The Thunderbolt is a 65 ton battlemech which was originally produced in 2491 as an assault mech, but due to 'mech classification changes it is now recognized as one of the most respected heavy mechs out in the Sphere.

As of the current MWO timeline there are seven different possible variants we could see in MWO once we exclude the clan variant and the custom variants.  Lets dive into the Thunderbolt with the confirmed variant for MWO.

Cattra's 3 variant prediction: TDR-5SS, TDR-9SE, TDR-5S (confirmed)

Final thoughts: I hope they keep the cockpit on one side of the torso giving players a different style of mech compared to all the centred cockpits.  Secondly I would really like to see the missile pod on the shoulder have its own hitbox and armour, etc so that you can blow it off but not lose your torso, but I am doubtful that this will happen.  All in all the Thunderbolt and Shadowhawk are by far what I am the most excited about.

Make sure to tune in tomorrow for the Locust.  Same Mech location, same Mech time!

Keep Overriding Mechwarriors

If it jumps, I want it.  Hopefully, they let the 9SE in.
Let's talk about light mechs.

The Thunderbolt TDR-5SE was the Eridani Light Horse variant and should have four jump jets.

Hopefully the shoulder weapons aren't taken out too easily. Loving the concept of it though.

Think Hunchback 4G but maybe a little less easy to cripple.
