    HBK-4P Paul Inouye's FUK Build (6x SMLas + 3 MLas)

    FLUFF
Taking the Swayback, the 4P Hunchback, and stripping off the 6x Medium Lasers you free up a fair chunk of room. From various testing on the Friends & Family Beta we came to the realization that 6x Small Lasers was pretty deadly.

The idea of this ‘Mech is that you run extremely cool, able to constantly fire your small lasers as you close in on your opponent. The leg armour prevents legging, and the reduced left torso armour allows you to stack it over more important areas. It performs extremely well close up, though be wary of ranged opponents, who will simply keep outside your small lasers distance and pick you apart!
    HOW TO ARMOR IT
    - Remove all heat sinks and armour from left torso
    - Max the armour of both legs
    - Add heatsinks to legs/right torso/arms until you’re maxed (26 total heatsinks)

    UPDATE (Oct 14, 2012):
This was Paul's early Friends and Family beta build. Not as many people go for leg shots any more so you can take some of the armor out of the legs and armor up that left torso a little bit. Especially if you are going to put an XL in here.

    Is this build still viable?

With a faster kph it could be.

I made a twist on this. I took a stock 4P, and dropped in the regular 245 engine from my Jenner to get it up to 79.4 kph if the mechbay app is right. I then dropped the weight down further with endo steel, and was able to run 2 medium lasers and 7 small lasers vs the 2x8 he had above. I also kept the stock 26 heat sinks vs the 28 listed.

    Hello,
It’s my first post in this forum so at the beginning I wanted to say thank you for “smerfy-net” and mech specs - they helped me to enjoy the game so much more and save some MC.
Since I’m mastering the Hunchies I decided to go after 4P and give a try those “FUK” combination because I never really trusted the small lasers.
Now I fell in love with this mech and I’m posting my little changed version of it – maybe someone will find it so fun to play as I have.
    Here comes “The Welder”

(if any kind Administrator can put this in this elegant form of pic – I would appreciate it)

    p.s.
thx to Admin, now I see how it's done in code, and I'll be able to put next myself ;) Thx again ;)

I'm not really seeing the point of the SPLs. They do slightly more DPS than SLs for about the weight and heat efficiency of MLs.
When looking at the armor values in my builds, ignore the front/back distribution on torsos. I just click "max armor" on smurfy's and tweak down from there to get to the expected value on each component.
