    Skribs' Dragon Template

Normally I would post a build with both a Smurfy link and the input table, but this is the general template I've been using on my dragons (which begs the question why I need more than one? well to level elites...and then I wanted a Fang...and eventually I'll get a 5N and use this as well). This build would work on the Flame even, but it swaps hard points around. I tried different things with the different models, including using no ballistics or using multiple AC/2s or AC/5s, but overall this general template is the best working system I've used, and it works really good. I use this on my 1N, 1C, and Fang.

    Chassis: Dragon
Engine: 300 XL (I've found this is the best engine for the dragon in terms of what it allows me to put on)
Armor: 384/402 STD (max everywhere except legs, 47/56 on each leg)
Heat Sinks: 15-16 DHS, depending on what will fit
    Upgrades: Endo Steel, DHS
    Weapon Loadout:
    Right Arm: UAC/5
Right Torso: AMS + 1-2 ton AMS Ammo (I've gone through 1 ton a couple times already)
    Center Torso: SRM6 (on 1N, 2x SRM4)*
Left Torso and Left Arm: Medium Lasers (medium pulse on 1N)
Ammo: 2 tons SRM ammo, 3-5 tons UAC/5 ammo

The UAC/5 is my "sniper" weapon but also gets a lot of use up close. The medium lasers are a very efficient source of damage, and the SRMs absolutely shred up close. I know the dragon plays more like a medium than a heavy, but I'll go brawling against an Atlas in this and take him down more often than not. The burst damage between UAC/5 and SRMs is very high, so if the brawl hasn't quite yet started, take some time playing around buildings and just burst and then step back while your UAC unjams.

My weapon groups are Left Click for MLs, Right Click for UAC and Mouse4 for SRMs.

    Edit:
*Regarding the weapon loadout, I would still advocate 100% that the 1N should use dual SRM4s, but on the others you have a choice between SRM6 (good close up), ASRM4 (good at 270m) or a single SRM4 (good balance).
