I personally hate the streak cat as I just hate SSRMs right now. Their good and this mech is good. Just make sure you have a freind nearby, anyone smart enough to power down in a 1v1 fight against this thing will make you take a loss on your damage output and time spent.

These streakapults are the main reason all my Jenners have dual large lasers instead of quad mediums...

Last I checked all the Jenners used quad smalls and 2 streaks or six smalls... e_e

Note: I will support builds that people want to use. If you see a build of mine that is outdated and would like to see it updated, I have it on hand. I just don't update them without a reason to do so. Why don't I just update them/post them? I have a folder of 1000+ images of 'Mech builds, and to post them all would forum spam. If you have a request, I will gladly fill it.

Dual LL isn't very viable on a Jenner. In hectic brawls you can't keep your firepower up to counter other light mechs and with chain fired streaks from a streak cat, it's going to give you a bad day. My streak cat doesn't die to light mechs; it dies to heavy and assault mechs that I'm dumb enough to stand in front of thinking I got them.

You know initially I though the same thing, until I tried it out. Now I've almost finished the master level pilot unlocks on my Jenners, using a dual LL build. The combination of crazy (150KPH) speed, jump jets, and LONG range on the lasers means I have no problems cutting arms off A1s while jump jetting high in the air from outside their maximum range. Damage wise the LLs are just as effective as three medium pulse and almost as powerful as four medium lasers, but the 450m range makes a world of difference especially when you're trying to dart away and keep your distance from a large mob. Really the only downside of the dual LLs is the sheer weight, and even that's manageable with a combination of Endo, Ferro, DHS, and an XL engine.

Endo, Ferro, DHS and an XL... So basically, the world's most expensive Jenner?

How does it fair against other lights? Also, on a premade or do you pug as well? Curious, not snark.

The same upgrades that almost every jenner will use eventually. No reason not too. Can't knock pilot that invests heavily in their mech. My JR7-D has all those upgrades as well. The upgrades, excluding DHS, aren't that expensive and FF is the most expensive repair cost. Even so, he should be able to net even a small profit on a loss without a premium benefit. Discounting premium/founders, my 4 SL, 2 SSRM jenner nets a profit almost every time. The rare event that I lose even a little is so minute it doesn't really affect my overall earnings.

I registered to complain about the derailment of this thread. I'm here to find out more about this catapult build, not jenners, thanks.

I ran this build for a while a little back, and it was very effective then, but it only has moderate success in the new, ECM-strewn battlefields. I'd recommend an SRM build these days.

Isnt this mech completely hosed by ECM?

for the most part yeah. but i see 4 ssrm2 and 2 srm 6 cats some what common. but most people go 6 srm6 or 4 srm6 and 2 srm4 for better heat management. (i just mastered out my 4&2 cat tonight.)

i almost prefer the 4 SRM6 and 2 Med laser on the 4C

I actually run 2 SRM6 and 4 SRM4, so each side fires 14 missiles rather than 16, as the A1 only has 15 missile tubes per side.
