Javelins do have use in the early game, and there are many deployments that pit you against (or even alongside) the 10A with its LRM15. Salvaging that platform finds an energy hardpoint in each arm, two missile points in one torso, and two support in the other. Here's my favorite way to use this run-and-gun platform.

First is the one I feel is most optimized: the SRM+SL harasser. On approach, 10 SRMs can help you whittle down enemy armor and evasion while spotting for your slower medium mechs. Then, jump or maneuver into an enemy's rear and shred them from behind. Just keep this mech moving, because it still has light armor.

Adjustments: sacrifice .5T armor for one more Jump Jet to get real maneuvering for behind-the-back attacks.

Pros: Far more survivable than stock with a 520 armor rating, SRM ammo for 10 rounds, decent heat management, SLs make melee an option, two shield arms!
Cons: Damage on approach is not...

Fast, light, and absolut...confusing.. it's the best SRM boat around for a light mech. Don't listen to the description. At least not if you plan to run this build. Its paper armor, even for a light mech, so stay OUT of H2H combat.
Switch out the SRM 4 for a pair of SRM 2 to save some tonnage for armor.

Pros: Best SRM boat for the light mech ( As far as i've seen yet!).
Cons: Wet paper armor. Use JJ for staying alive.

This particular variant of the Javelin, is a small upgrade from the Commando mech, with only 40 more Structure and a bit faster than the commando. It's a nice little harraser / support mech, but in the end, i would switch it out asap.

Pros: Better than the commando, fast.
Cons: it's a little slow so it don't get many pecks for defence when moving. JJ will help a lot here. No armor so stray shots or just shots in general will hurt this mech alot!.
