<li><span style="text-decoration: underline">Heat penalty minimum level set to 13 - Fire 12 with no heat penalty</span></li>
</ul><span style="text-decoration: underline">Notes: The combination of damage and range increase as well as removal from the heat penalty system in April turned C-Micro pulse lasers into a potent back-up/complimentary weapon on a large variety of &#039;Mechs. While the changes achieved the intended goal of making them into viable weapon options for a wide range of &#039;Mechs, some were able to push the balance boundaries through sheer number of energy hardpoints, which allowed them to bring high alpha damage, high dps, low heat, and high speed to the table at the same time. To address this, this patch includes a slight damage reduction to the micro-pulse lasers, as well as re-activation of the heat penalty system (at 13). These changes...</span><br />

The Clan large pulse laser is so much better than the IS one, too, but the PIR-2 has no quirks. Gets toasty after a while, because heat dissipation isn&#039;t great (without skills):<br />

Thanks to PGI, this should have no ghost heat.  (4 x 8 + 10 x 1.15 = 32 + 11.5 = 43.5 heat per alpha)<br />

Big-ish opener and 10x ERuL to finish things off and carve up other lights well waiting for the Heavies to come off cool down or to bleed off enough heat.<br />

Someone had to post this. It&#039;s stupid, but it actually works surprisingly well. You have 3 groups, and with good burn control generate no ghost heat. The alpha strike WILL kill you.<br />

Came up with this well in advance, but b33f was running it a lot last night. He somehow had a couple 1k+ games, but was mostly suiciding for instakills, because tiny dire star memes.<br />
