I haven't seen any discussion about this on the official forums or Reddit but last night (Australian time 22:00 +10GMT) it was impossible to get a drop in either solo or group queue. Others seemed to be having the same problem and 1 of my mechs got caught "In Game" yet it certainly wasn't. This is the first time I've seen an outage effect the whole game like this, I've seem dodgy servers which just hang up on me but this seems like a whole of MWO issue. Did anyone here at MechSpecs see this or was it an issue with the Aussie link to the US? Cheers.
This game has had many issues like the one you are describing. Most of the outages affect Europe, but I'm not surprised to see this affecting Australia.
We had a similar case, just one drop that we cancelled but our mechs went into a game anyway. We could press rejoin but since that discovery was made five-six minutes after we cancelled/dropped we figured we were dead.
This might either be a case of MWO server connection which happens once in a while in Europe/Asia, or it might be a quokka chewing on your internet connection. Check with your local quokka rep.
Actually this probably wasn't MWO strangely. Friends playing several different games with servers in the US were complaining last night. They were all based in Australia, New Zealand or close countries.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't try other online games last night but was going to get back into War Thunder but the patch was so big I would have been asleep before it installed. See you on the battlefield
There's a chance MWO could've had a hiccup as well. I was watching a Twitch stream around 6am EST, and every person in the game was booted out into the lobby midmatch. The usual stuff happened, mechs stuck in games for 30-40 minutes, people unable to connect, and the game was acting VERY weird after that (friends list not loading, saving taking forever, etc). Affected those of us in the US as well.
That was my point - there was presumably a general problem with thw internet structure or an entity in the routing between North America and Australasia as it effecetd a number of games.
Maybe it could be some broken files for many players ? I ran the repair tool and I had 5 or 6 errors, and it never found an error before (other then the time they told to run it pre-patch).
