...And then thirty seconds later, the Atlas pilot found that his mech was unable to fight a smaller opponent in close range and died in an ignoble pile of parts. The end.
Unlikely actually, Won't last 30 seconds. Cringe Chat I saw today: Someone suggesting a newbie to try 4x LRM5 plus Artemis on a Puma. Yes, someone actually suggesting 4xLRM5+A ffs. On the side note, since the adder is basically a lighter medium 4xLRM5 is actually ok-ish.
Yepp, just met him again. Spoiler If you wonder why he is still running that Build on his Atlas - I asked him some days ago when i saw this - he replied that he got a bad PC/Inet Connection whatever, so he just want some fun with his Atlas.
Next time at least tell the Atlas pilot to take off +A, so he can use those tonnage for something like bigger engine/DHS/laser. Better yet, upgrade to 3x LL. Well, if you are running a build like that mauler mind as well do XL. You are fucked anyways when someone is close.
this guy actually beats the LRM40+A Atlas! lol before on Polar Highlands he told us to hold Locks right at the beginning, we joked about having LRMs on Atlas is quite usual.. i thought had some LRMs, but not LRM60!!! lol btw LRM Boats in Big AL is really often these days:
You really want to run this, really? NVM, with that top speed... I failed. Before you ask, the mech comes with DHS and so this should not be an idiot filling everything up with SHS.
Saw them fighting a single ACH earlier for like 5 mins wondering why the ACH hasn't died. Guess this is why.
If I could screenshot them, I would - MWO seems to have stopped working with regular, inbuilt Windows screenshots for me again. But, anywho, every time I see an LRM40 Spirit Bear, I just feel devastated. LRMs on a Kodiak is as bad as LRMs on an Atlas. Some loadouts, it's fine, but I don't think that a Spirit Bear with LRM40 +A really deserves to be a thing.
Why stop at LRM 40? Had some friendly discussions in unit about how much ammo to take and a devout lrm boater recommended over 3,000 missiles. That lead to some more light hearted friendly discussion and the affectionately named Boaty McBoatface. (Original suggested version dropped the Masc IV and a ton of armor for more ammo.) With chainfire it does cause a good four seconds of straight cockpit shake.
I'm aware of the Steam hotkey, I just haven't been bothered to uninstall the game to install it via Steam. Feels like it'd take too much effort.
There is a post on the MWOMERCS forums on how to convert the normal client to Steam to save a massive download. Similar instructions can be used for the Tournament client to save a 12Gb download.
