So do you like the Pack? If yes tell us what you like, if no, tell us what you dislike.

also asking -> Captain America or Iron Man?

I'm not spending $ until I see they've got a good handle on what's happening with skills.

The mechs themselves are a not inspiring. The Cougar is guaranteed to be a disappointment. A 35 ton mech maxing out at 87kph is going to get eaten alive. I don't think there's anything special about the Mad Cat MkII. The Uziel is yet another 50 ton IS mech. And I'm not sure what you do with the Annihilator that you can't do with a King Crab or Mauler.

well said.. a Pack more for the Nostalgia. But you can say that to every other upcoming Mechs as well - just Variations with little Modifications here and there of some Mechs we alreay have.

I'm currently going through my stock of Mechs I'd previously bought with packs. I will probably only get Mech Packs when I run out of packed Mechs, if that makes sense.

(Currently, my leveling plan involves leveling 1 IS Mech Pack, 1 Clan Mech Pack, 1 set of Mechs I bought with C-Bills, and 1 Mech or multiple variants of chassis I've levelled before).

My main concern is the value for money has dropped. No premium time with standard packs, the premium time for the collectors packs is active (not banked which is stupid). Also there are no modules, I understand modules are going but if that is the case there should be more c-bills given away in the pre-order. The only mechs from the group that look worth it would be the Annihilator and the Mad Cat MkII, mainly because of the torso mount weapons.

Considering how pissed of people are at the moment, I think they need to increase the value of the pre-orders, not gimp them.

They're losing players, so they need to milk more money out of the ones that are staying.

Considering that the majority of the Players was pretty happy with the current Mech Pack Model.. (see also here https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/pgis-current-mech-sale-model-discussion-poll.10920/)

Here you go -> if you want all the Mechs in a big Package - forget to get any % Sales Offer. Instead you need to pay how much if you want to take all of them in the Ultimate Editions? 150 Bucks? No that's only the Collectors Editions. For the Ultimates it's 260! Can't remember we payed that much in the past for Top Tier Collections..

This isn't accurate any more because the 'rule of 3' should be gone whenever the Skill Tree launches... which in turn makes me think wether PGI already expected a massive shitstorm about their ST proposal and consequental delay of it? Otherwise it doesn't make sense to offer the 'Civil War' packages in this (same) way. As setting the packages up this way takes some effort, it looks as if this system was fully planned to be used even after all the details about ST would have been abailable to the player base to me.

TBH I fully expected them to change the system to one allowing the players to pick single variants including a discount the more mechs you choose (comparable to the system for Clan Wave 1 a la carte buys.)

About the mechs themselves, Mad Cat Mk II looks beautiful. I fully expect this one to become the best 90t mech available in the game the instant it hits the battlefield. Being a battlemech instead of an omnimech is a huge advantage in MWO. I will probably buy this one.

I also am a fan of the Uziel, but am not sure about it's capabilities yet. A very fast & jumpy 50t mech might be interesting nonetheless. This has a 'maybe' from me.

The Cougar is the better Adder in TT in my eyes, but I am not very fond of it in MWO. As with the Adder it might get some sweet quirks, but I definitely won't bite the bullet here.

The Annihilator is a VERY iconic mech from me. In MWO this probably will work like an IS Dire Wolf: slow / sluggish, but an enemy doesn't want to meet you in a dark corner. I am a bit suspicious about the hitboxes, especially head & CT, but contrary to the DWF being humanoid this thing might be able to shield incoming damage a bit better. The perspective of quad IS UAC10 on this one makes me giggle a bit... but I am unsure about this one nonetheless.

The Civil War Mechs (sounds too funny) are smartly selected by PGI - very iconic and most players can call up some old MW-Game Memories. Will go for the Mad Cat MKII (too brutal with that tonnage+speed) and maaaybe for the Annihilator (but Engine Cap @300?!)..

  10. I agree.

I was expecting to see more glittery trinkets added to the mechpacks. Maybe a bunch of supply caches without keys...

Hopefully the lack of a fire sale means that PGI is doing well and can burn months of development time on things that aren't being implemented in game without a care in the world.

Seriously? Why would they do that? Fan Service? PGI knows that with a Single Variants Offer the players would buy less - namely only the best variant of each Chassis, and focus only on that with the whole "epic" new Skill Tree. With the current Mech Packs Model we players are forced to take 3+, like it or not -> you can't even chose the three Variants you want in your Standard Package.

Discount the more mechs you chose? If they really wanted that way, they could have offered an Ultimate Ultimate Edition Package with all the Civil War Mechs with a Discount or Real Big Bonus Stuff and not some cheesy 5% XP or 5% CBill Boost (it's really a EITHER OR because it's a damn Hanging Item. Cringe!).. But no, they did not. So obviously it sounds like -> Milk the Whales (who'd go ALL-IN anyways) with maximum effort to get as much Cash as possible.

Besides.. what the heck - why no Banked Premium Time??! Why is the Premium Time directly activated? It's July 18 when most ppl go on holidays and not stay at home to play MWO 30days in chain. Who decided that? -> Needs to get a full Alphastrike in the face!

This. There is NO reason for Premium time not to be banked, unless they know the only people who are going to buy those packs already have 23463472 hours of banked time. I know some of those people and have no idea why they don't activate that time. The game won't be around by the time they use it. Weird.
