Surprised this one works as it was just a levelling build while I got comfortable with running Vipers. So far doing my basics I've got 1-3 kills in every battle with the main limiter being heat. The arm mounted erml are slightly uncomfortable but I found them decent once I got used to the mech dimensions. Groups are 2 x left arm cERML, 2 x right arm cERML and CT cERML/4MG. Quirks: Acceleration +40% Deceleration +40% Turn Rate +30% Torso Turn Rate +30% MG ROF +20% Modules cERML Cooldown cERML Range Radar Deprivation
I have only a few skill point on this mech. I bought it a couple of weeks before the skill tree introduction and up to now I've played with mechs for which I already had skill points. Now I'm going back with the viper. On paper I'd like to invest in agility and jump, with operations and sensors next. A little bit of firepower, like ranges, heat and cooldown. I do not know if it's a good investment or not...
Well jump mostly helps with mechs with very few jump jets but I can see the use of the heat reduction bits. Firepower yes definitely, survival also gives great bonuses for lights. Usual 6 pts in consumables probably. I'm unsure of Radar Dep etc on such an agile/JJ capable mech. Don't forget the energy rebalance is in a couple of days unless it slips.
This thing is already running hot when using 5 cSPL. So 5x cERML turns this mech into some kind of peeker... which is not what the Viper was made for.
Not really true tbh. In its original form this worked well but the quirk changes cost it dearly. SPL is a totally different playstyle - ERML was a ranged harasser with MG finisher.
