Out of all the clan mechs I purchased, this has been the hardest one to come up with a decent configuration for. I tried many of the configs here, with some minor success, and also tried some configs I found in battle watching other players after I died, also with only some minor success. Then I found a config on here towards the bottom of the page that was unrated. With nothing to loose I tried it and it worked decently. I tweaked it a bit more, and this is the one I came up with. Three matches in and it has performed moderately well. I'm going to play with it some more today and see if it improves at all, but so far I am liking this config the best.
This is indeed one of the better builds for the Summoner at the current state. Some changes are necessary, though. First of all, you definitely want to max out the armor on the torso. Second, remember that cAMS ammo already is 2000 shots per ton. Removing half a ton of it allows to add the armor needed.
Thanks for the reply's and ratings. I have heard from a few people that this build is their favorite, I sold my other two variations and kept the prime, this is the only build I use in it now.
I'm going to leave this here because it's kinda sorta close to this build. I was listening to the Black Pants Legion video about Summoners, and he mentioned some old famous clanner pilot (forget the name) that ran this chassis with a UAC10, UAC5, 2ERML's, and 2 AMS. Well, the MWO version of this mech can't really fit all of that with its crappy pod space, but this is close, and looks like a fairly decent build for second line poking: Done with a 'Pride' base, but it's an omnimech not using Pride parts, so whatever. The right arm omnipod can be swapped with the "D". The "C" gives better laser duration; the "D" gives better range. _
