The Quickdraw is not a desirable mech. There's good reasons why no one has posted builds for it, and among those reasons are the limited available tonnage for equipment and the less-than-ideal placement of hardpoints. Can't easily fit it with long range guns for the light tonnage, and can't get it to the sweet spot of armor and damage for brawl weapons... It's a fast heavy, but a 50-Ton or 55-Ton mech will get the job done with more armor, faster initiative, and the same map speed! But everyone knows this.

For any newbies, and anyone looking to make it work if this is your first Heavy mech in a playthrough, here's two nearly identical options. Both use brawl range weaponry, and both are under-powered for their weight class. Still, it can tank, briefly, and can harass and contribute to damage.

Pros: Not many. It's a fast heavy with decent armor and alpha ranging up to ~180.
Cons: No long range, only 10 full volleys of SRMs, sacrifices signature jump jet mobility for survivability, no shield arm.

Pros: More survivable and better heat than the previous variant and alpha ranging up to ~165, plenty of SRM ammo, shield arm.
Cons: Even less JJ maneuverability, no room for a gyro.

Those chunky arms don't appear again until the Banshee, and I wish there were support hardpoints to enhance some melee. The Quickdraw is a placeholder until you get bigger mechs in your hangar.

If I remember correctly, the Quickdraw also has lower melee damage than other mechs the same tonnage. Which is especially noticeable because many mediums have boosted melee damage compared to their tonnage.

Yeah, the tonnage-to-damage ratio is odd, with certain ton-range mechs getting shorted on their respective impact. That plus the increased melee damage of the Shadowhawk, and the Quickdraw's punch is just laughable.

It originally comes from old school Battletech lore that describes certain mechs as being particularly effective in melee and others as being not so good.
