Seriously!?!?! This guy was running around taking pot shots at stuff last night and we were all giggling on TS3 like "WTF this guy ain't no big thing" and he was probably sitting there saying "WTF, I ain't even mad" and we be all like "WTF does this guy think he's doing" and he was probably sitting there like "WTF, watch dis yo"

    BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was his score at the end of the match.

The guy is absolutely DEADLY in a 3L and his last kill was with broken ECM.

Huh. Well.... alrighty then! It definitely has more range than ravens I typically see, excluding the silly PPC ravens. 2 LLas are better than 3 MLas.... You give up the streaks normally associated with this but make up for it with all of the MURDER! I totally approve of this build.

Very interesting concept...almost as interesting as you narative Michael. I will give this a try, wondering about heat management etc...
    Thanks for the Post.

Heat Efficiency of 50% (Smurfy Scale). That is stupid easy to manage.

I've started to see more and more of these on the field in the last 24 hours too.

Lovely, it works 100% on a Cicada 3M as well. Tried it once, and although we got our asses handed to us (4 kills vs. 12) half of ours were mine.

I run the equivalent build (sans ECM) on my X5. Not quite as deadly since you're easier to target, but its great to be able to melt enemies from across the map while moving at 130+ kph. You just shoot anything you see and don't stop moving.

Yup, this is my 3L build now. I might have to decide which module to switch out for the zoom module even.

I used to run 2x ERLLas on a RVN-4X, but I never thought to do it on the 3L. I may need to revisit that notion for the radical ECM advantage.

This build is tremendous fun, especially on big maps. I play this as a sort of deep strike scout/sniper, getting around behind enemy lines and putting damage into vulnerable backs and spotting for the missile boats. I've had a lot of success using this to disrupt enemy formations, one game I got 4 kills where not a single one of them knew where they were being shot from. Haven't racked up more than ~750ish damage in a round though

My mod drops a little speed for TAG:

imho, this is a better version. I believe peef uses this build.

2 lasers both in right arm so you can expose less of your mech to fire.
heat sink with right arm and left torso. have the heat sink there reduces chance ecm or laser destroyed.
0 armor left arm since nothing there.

    A bit of math:

1001 damage with 9 damage per LLaser 2 times is in best case around 57 fired beams. Adding the cooldown of 3,25sec it comes down to a time of 185,25 seconds fired over all the match. Within a 15 min match this makes 20% of the total time staying in contact with targets.

But to be honest having 3 minutes combat time over all (w/o heat issues) says the match was pretty damn under average, because to have so much time to penetrate targets means both sides didn't aimed well.

Thats great that you are able to do math however your math fails to take into account several key factors when dealing with combat...

    - The amount of time the match actually lasted. Nobody said it went 15 minutes.
    - The amount of travel time between targets
    - The amount of time an enemy is specifically hunting you, forcing you to disengage
    - The amount of damage your mech sustains when you are vulnerable during an exchange of fire
    - How quickly or how spread out those shots are placed thus affecting heat factors etc.

Math is great but it really does nothing to show the flow of a battle.

Actually the 20% of combat is the "least case" of time. If the match was over in lets say 8 minutes, then to make such a damage you have to have 35% vision of enemys - and they may have vision of you too. But even in the lowest case you probaly beeing exposed 1/5 of the time the match lasts. IDK, but minimum (since all beams needs to fired within 450m) 3 minutes time beeing vulnerable in a 35 tonnes mech means that target fokus, aiming and pinpoint damage wasn't the strength of both teams.

Yeah,Ravens were the first mech I decided to buy and grind xp on. I got to the 3l last, and over the course of a few weeks (right around the time this post was originally made) I came up with a build that was pretty much the same as this one. (I think I'm running an xl255 in mine, and advanced zoom is of course required.)

I think that it's the natural evolution of trying to max the potential of the 3L. Eventually you end up with this build, or something very close to it, with the 2 erll's and ecm being the cornerstone.

It's still my favorite mech. I always called it the "Dirty Bird" because if how it sneaks around, not making waves, but eating up the armour constantly. And because it's, well, dirty. lol

I've seen this build a great deal recently. Either on the 3L with ECM or on a 4X with JJs.

It's the perfect 'mech for hanging at the outskirts of the battle and carving up the bad guys.

Since the XL290 and XL295 have the exact same weight you can use the 295 in this for a bit of extra speed, if you have one.
