    I have been iterating my Phalanx build from a Gauss & 3 LLAS into a AC20 & 3 LLAS. Now with the new heat scale in I had to rethink it even further to avoid the 3 LLAS penalty.

    It doesn't have the biggest or baddest Alpha out there and the downgrade from LRM20 in previous builds hurt a lot, I did go back to the Gauss with a CASE and will be testing it to see how the heat plays out. 40% is not bad, when you are done tickling with the LRM (I usually use it as a way to do some additional damage when a mech is close but out of sight or retreating, stressing them) you will have 50%+ heat efficiency.

    Groups

    -LLAS to Grp 1
    -Gauss to Grp 2
    -MLAS to grp 3 (don't use it unless alpha, zombie or for heat purposes)
    -LRM to Grp 4
    -Lasers and Gauss to "Semi-Alpha" group 6, fire missiles separatly.

    First round score;

    Vergere, you are without a doubt putting in some serious work on scoring the builds. Thanks for that effort, regardless of the scores awarded to my build (of which I am glad too of course), I am very happy to see the scoring system being put to use and making others able to see builds that may be of interest. :)

    While I understand the logic behind it I am unsure about the effectiveness of the LRM system being worth the total 7 tons.
    Maybe a SRM system and some DHS and armor would be better.

    I considered the SRM6 pack and may run it, downgrading from 20 to 10 LRM makes the opposition AMS able to reduce the damage significantly. It's a trade off.

    LRM10 - Stress, hitting people without AMS, hitting people outside of visual range of yourself.
    SRM6 - Additional damage in CQB, no lock required, shotgun effect (torsomounted).

    As most of the other weaponry is geared to long range apart from the two MLAS, it's a difficult choice between reinforcing the long range or short range.

    The reason I like this build is the fact that it you only downgrade the LRM's and engine from the original loadout. STD engines always work better in Atlas's, and LRM10 that fires in 1 shot instead of 2 compared to other atlas's (if they have both LRM and SRM installed) is great.
