Honestly check the change notes from the 15th as a lot of changes including cMPL and cUAC's. Most builds probably need re-designing.
Thanks. What's your opinions on the Night Gyr? I saw something about a 20% discount on the clan waves sometime this November and figured it would be a good time to buy the $20 pack. Also, what is this? Is there an event?
https://mwomercs.com/tournaments?t=201611kerensky Just click on the section titles to go to each area. The $20 packs aren't discounted its the larger packs - in my case I got the Wave 3 $120 pack for $96 which was going to be my Christmas present to myself. Three of the mechs I really wanted - arctic cheetah, shadow cat and ebon jaguar. The fourth ... well at the discount I effectively get the three executioners, 30 days premium, and minor colour schemes etc for $6. Its kidology I know but ..... Anyway heres the sale stuff for the month: https://mwomercs.com/news/2016/11/1658-countdown-to-black-friday The most important item (in my opinion) are the 50% off mech bays. It and hero mechs are the one items you have to pay MC/cash for whereas most mechs you can buy for c-bills eventually. I actually save up c-bills and buy most of my mechs in the normal sales they have so the ability to buy MC with a bonus from Monday, November 21st at 10AM PST (6PM UTC, SAME DAY) to Monday, November 28th at 10AM PST (6PM UTC, SAME DAY) ... and then buy mech bays at 50% off is great.
Sorry I forgot to mention the Night Gyrs. I've barely used mine so hoping someone else can chime in. They're mostly dakka builds and rather clumsy. Basically they do a lot of damage but you don't want to fight a light in them. They were great but UAC's were hit in the recent changes. I've not played with UAC's much since as levelling the last few Huntsmen and the Linebackers/Locusts due to the competition on atm.
The Night Gyrs are fantastic. It's a different play style than all the other clan heavies though, as you're only able to walk at 69.7 kph whith speed tweak unlocked. So they aren't the mobile strikers you might be used to, but more like a walking gun boat. About 70 kph isn't Dire Wolf-ish slow, but it already includes the danger of being left behind slightly when some idiots start the usual NASCAR thingy. On the other hand, 70-ish is pretty typical for an IS heavy, so I might be a bit hyperbolic here. Anyway, the lower engine means you can mount a f*ckton of weapons on these. I fully expect comp teams to field more than one NTG during the upcoming MRBC seasons (as they aren't legal in the current season) because of the enourmous firepower they come with. Note that some resctrictions build-wise are induced by the amount of fixed equipment. Their special quirk mirroring those experimantal 'laser heatsinks' from lore means they are always playing the same way regardless of cold, normal or hot map. It also meany they are getting relativley better the higher a map's environmental heat is. For some simple examples you can screen the NTG section on this forums. Additionally, here are some of my favourite builds: @Aramuside is right though as the standard packages for USD 20 aren't affected by the 'countdown to Cyber Monday' sales. Those only include the big mech packages of old.
Thank, are there CB discounts or only MC discounts? I went ahead and purchased the Night Gyr pack, this is my first time buying something for an online game and i have yet to receive them. I used the gift purchase option and then redeemed the code on my account, it has been 40 or so minutes since i purchased. Awesome, i will try out those builds as soon as i receive my Night Gyrs! Thanks!
Got my Night Gyr last night and went with the twin gauss and PPC build with some minor changes that was a lot of fun. I conjured this up at work, can't wait to try it out later today.
Looks a bit on the hot side. Remember that -100% of enviromental heat... From my experience you should do more balanced builds on the NTGs and aim for a heat efficiency of ~ 40% in Smurfy's. Any chance to swap that UAC10 for a Gauss Rifle?
Yeah as Aylek said. Heat plus the LPL and Gauss are essentially point and click (slight lead on the gauss in most cases where the targets are moving reasonably fast) with very similar optimal. The UAC 10 needs a longer lead. The SRM 6 trio as a set will run quite hot as will the LPL pair so having a gauss helps a lot then.
Thanks for the build. It seems i can't buy the omni parts from the variants i don't own (probably because the mechs aren't available in CB yet) Made minor changes to to this:
You can only buy the variant pods from the basic package until the official release. us old farts here sometimes would assume people having stacks of parts around. I swear some fuckers here may have over 200 mechs and even more parts.
Now... just wondering. If we get extra heros with MC in the future when they are out, will their hero pods be available for MC? Or do we have to buy extra heros (and strip them) for extra pods?
