I would like to know why people chose to use the Centurion... The Centurion was my first battlemech in MWO... i chose it because of Kai Allard Liao... lol!!!!

    fan boi!!!!!!!

Actually, I chose it cause of Yen Lo-Wang as well. I also am a fan of the Roman Legions so that part should explain itself.

These days I don't run a Centurion at all. SRMs have horrible hit detection for me (and I'm very close physically to the servers) and people know to shoot the legs off Zombies soooooooooooooooo I mix it up.

For me it was the first mech I learned how to use properly, simple but effective loadouts, lots of speed, and just tough as nails. No other mech I've played has been as tough as my Cent.

    Hey Zigg,

well, lots of people will be mastering it to get the most out of their YLW, and seriously, it's worth it :) what you get is a mean looking 107 kph brawler.

Considering buying a CN9-D and CN9-A you get another pair of very versatile and unique mechs - the first beeing a lights hunter, the second can be played as a LRM support Mech.

All in all, it's the speed and the versatile roles of the different models that makes the Centurion very fun to master (in my opionion, of course).

    Cheers, Aru :D

I've actually come back to the Centurion after mastering the Hunchback.

Taking the lessons from what I've learned I find the Cent to be more versatile then other med-mechs. Good piloting makes the Cent tanky and good battle seance makes it deadly.

It's also one of the few med-mechs with all three weapon types. Most people think the ballistic in the arm is weak or easy to hit. That couldn't be further from the truth. An AC10 or LBX10 or a Gauss on the most mobile and accurate part of the mech is very strong. I hit light mechs all the time and that much damage on a small mech is lethal.

I hit a Spider the other day right in the center back with an AC10 kill'm in one shot. Tell me that's not strong. Would never of been able to do that with a Torso mounted weapon.

Being mindful that your right arm is a main weapon system and using your left arm like the shield it is, lets you control the fight.

    TL;DR

    Pros:
    Tanky
    Versatile
    Accurate Firepower

    Cons:
Low engine cap from most modals
    Low Max Alpha Firepower
High pilot skill for best results

At less that's my opinion. I still love it though.
