After finding 6MPL, 8MPL, and 9MPL builds for the 4P, Here's my 7MPL version. All 7 MPLs are high mounted. Very powerful in the new system, little bit of ghost heat but not a big problem. One group alpha, one chainfire (fun-fact: chainfire fits perfectly with 7 MPL and the right skills) Slot-efficient, highest rating STD engine. Armor too scary for you? Arms really don't shield much of the huge torso tbh. Still find it too scary to go alone, drop to a STD270, and you can get all the armor you need. Too hot? Luckily your engines are decoupled from twist nowadays: Or you could swap the head MPL to a flamer, and avoid 3.2 ghost heat. Recommended skills in order of importance: Firepower: Laser Duration, Heat Gen, Range, Cooldown Sensors: Radar Derp, Seismic Auxiliary: Coolshots Operations: Cool Run, Heat Containment = Mobility: Torso Speed, Yaw, Pitch, Speed Tweak Survival: Armor, Structure
Currently trying it out with a flamer! Generates no heat when beginning to fire, and other people overheating gives you an easy kill. Not sure if it's worth less alpha.
I do like the flamer, but the lack of heatsinks tho. I would highly recommend going to a standard 270 and stripping the legs a little bit. It's worth it for extra heatsinks. Edit: OH wait. You got ferrofiber in there. I take it back. Wouldn't work. Edit2: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=2&l=75a012ba2a6660ab53d2e576616bf7492ee62711
The cool efficiency is still pretty good in my experience, I can do like 3-5 alphas (depending on map) before max heat, and this is more of a skirmisher than a brawler. Poke in & out of cover taking well-aimed potshots, instead of hardcore destroying enemies while twisting off the damage.
Now with more heat sinks at high speed and a Targeting Computer, which are protectable, thanks to revolutionary Light Engine technology. Amazing!
