Welcome to the "CN9 Club of 1000+" ! Here you can post your Highscores with 1000+ Damage dealt with your Cents. Pls let us know which Weaponloadout you had in your match. My Highscore: (2x LRM15, 3x MLas, TAG) CN9-AL "LOLRM 2, Electric Boogaloo" Finally! And First one! YAY!!!!! After more than 2yrs playing MWO I never succeeded to break 1K+ with this imo mediocre Chassis. Never before! Ok the CN9-A is special and can make some high kill counts, but 1K+ ? With what? Broken SRM Hit Detection? Two CT MLas? Ok the YLW could maybe do it with the 2x UAC5 build, but with 5-6 Tons of Ammo you need to burn alot additional damage with the CT-Lasers. The other Variants? Don`t know.. I had worse luck with them than with the A and the YLW. Actually it was no fun for me to master the Chassis. Today i just wanted to play a J4F-round with the AL, experimenting with the Missile Support Approach but with moar Ammo -> 1440. But with only 10'tubes the Missiles are fired in two Volleys, so it's hard to strike hard enough to get full damage scores with a Hit. Well whatever, i just wanted some little Lurmageddon Support fun. But to my big surprise this round was crazy! I fired every single Missile away before the 6th Min. And that match took us 14+ f***ing epic long Minutes to finish. There was only a bit more than 1Min. left in the end! So i only had my three MLas for the entire second half of the game. What surprised me was, that I didn't have the feeling i dished out very much damage with the Missiles until then, because there were quite some Volleys which missed. In the End i literally fell from my chair, when i saw the Final Score! WOW!!! COWABUNGAAAAAAAA! From the 9th minute there was only 1 Jager left and he succeeded to survive the next 6 Minutes = 2/3rd of the match! Simply hiding at their base between all the Turrets, which made us three Mechs really big Trouble - we all had only Close Range Weapons! So we had a very long annoying stationary battle - us hiding behind the pillars of the Bridge from the middle canyon and scratching him with our MLas, which of coz dealt minimal damage to him, aaaand he with long range Autocannons hammering on us everytime we got out from cover. We were really lucky to avoid his bullets though we all were quite orange-reddish. Especially my Legs were both very opened up from Turret Missiles.. :whacko: When the last Minute was coming we simply decided to storm the base, ignoring the Damage from the Turrets just to kill him before the match ended by time - simply becoz his CT was finally orange! ... My Mates both got killed in this suicide Action!!! ... And then finally of coz -> I
Hm, I think I beat you, Blagg --- by just a little bit. Basic Yen-Lo-Wang build: AC20 and 2xMPLaser, with an XL300 and 4 tons of ammo. I dropped a pair of strikes in amongst all the brawling, but even so, I (and my pals) enjoyed seeing that 1000+ at the end of the match. I generally don't expect to do more than 7-800 damage in this 'Mech, mainly due to the ammo restriction; but AC20 never tasted so good as it did tonight. I managed to use up all my ammo before my Right Arm got blown off, and afterwards, even with my RT cored cherry-red, I was able to shield with my LT while I dished out probably another 100 or 150 dmg with my MPLasers. In the end, I took the final kill, (a Raven-3L that had been making a futile attempt to finish off their cap), and then listened smiling as my friends on TS freaked out at the damage they saw I'd done! It was a glorious victory.
I know, doing it with Strikes is never the same as doing it without. Thing is, I load strikes in case I need them in a match, and in that match, I needed them at one point where I had 2 Jaggers and a Catapult on my back. So . . . it's not like I wanted to use an Arty to get 1000+, it's just how it worked out! And a Trebuchet? I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those things. I kill them; I don't get killed in them!
So...this just happened. No strikes, no arty. Just pure adrenaline from this 'mechs speed. http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc436/skit1994/MWOClient2014-07-1622-05-04-32_zps16e3a588.png[/img] THE BUILD(REALLY): http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=29&l=a34e1fbb83d64fd068268ce1969e262d694c7287 Gotta go fast.
Woaah, new record for me with the Yen Lo-Wang! No Arty, just old school as usual for me. The Build: You`ve got Wang: Long live the Lo-Wang!!!
Okay, technically not "1000", but I think the fact I was using SINGLE HEAT SINKS should count for that extra point, and I don't even have the BASIC skill trees done on it. Plus my 2nd last shot was off because I aimed with the torso x-hair rather than the arm circle (not used to the whole twisting to avoid damage). What's funny is I challenged the King Crabs to out-damage this mech. Not that I recommend this build, although it's not at all bad. I'm trying to save money while getting all 3 free Cent's to basic & don't want to pay the endo/dhs tax.
Here is my Yen-Lo-Wang match. It was a real nail biter right from the start until the end as the teams stayed even for the entire match right until the end! No air strikes or arty, just a big AC20 and pulse lasers. Wang build was the classic Ac20 and 2 med pulse with XL 300 and 4 tons of ammo. Weird bug that was stopping me from seeing other mech's at end of match which is too bad but was a blast! Our teams were even 4-4, 5-5, 7-6 right until 10-10 at the end with just two left on each side Enemy had Atlas and Hunch left and while my noble teammate died he distracted atlas so i could get behind him to take him out and just me vs. a Hunchback. I was on top running along ramp and he was below me trying to torso twist for the life of him but we were both cherry red and my MPlas took out his CT (he was running std, i was XL) Overall probably the most fun I've ever had in solo drop queue.
That is actually quite the accomplishment @phailwhale it ain't easy in a brawler with an XL and limited ammo supplies.
Again Blagg Zear saved me from more frustration from unloved 'mech. Possibly it'll finally have nice >1 k/d and w/l ratios, but I'm far from certain about that. But I did 1k+ damage using it, it says a lot about its performance. It happened with this build (very slightly modified). P.S.: I wonder why this thread fits on one page, despite CN9 being very popular. (Not too easy to break 1k threshold using one of lightest medium 'mechs?)
I where surprised by that to when I found the thread. 6-800 damage games are fairly common but I guess breaking 1000 is somewhat rare. Both the A and AL where really good at-least back in the day, not played them so much after the quirkening thou. But yes I think it is one of the mechs that dont really get the attention it deserve.
First time to break 1k in Cent, and it's not my beloved YLW. Oh well. 280 XL, LBX10 w/ 5t ammo, SRM(A)6 w/ 1t, 2 MLas. Killed by friendly arty, but was out of LBX10 just then.
I was running around and it seemed like I couldn't miss. I wasn't expecting 1k damage because I only carry 28 shots... but I'm not going to complain either
OK so this had to be my first post. After about 5 months, finally my first 1000+ battle. I was running AC20 with 5 tons ammo, 3 SRM2s with 3 tons ammo and 260XL engine. Lost my AC arm with 1 round left and finished the round hitting a DC on the other side with SRMs, just enough to pass 1000. And even then, I had someone in my own lance out damage me.
Hello, been lurking for awhile got a nice surprise on my CN9-AH(L) tonight. the loadout is XL 255, AC20(5t ammo) and 2x SRM4 (2t ammo)
Yen Lo Wang This match was typical nascar rotating fast. There was no organization on either side. No focus firing, and just really hectic. I lost my right arm just as I expended my last round. I was cored RT/LT/CT bright red but somehow managed to twist damage. Using the snub-nosed ppc in the end focusing on legs and exposed sections of enemy mechs.
1000 dmg in the yen lo wang. 1 ac20, 2 mpl, 1 xl 265. Showing that you don't need anything fancy to get 1000 dmg. Just a good map suited to your mech, and you can work wonders. Consumables were 1 coolant and 1 artillery.
