So with the release of the civil war tech, has anyone tried reviving their treb builds? The TBT-7K was the first mech I ever purchased, but it became obsolete pretty quickly. I'd love to see some new build ideas.

Kintaro did it better /s :hilarious:

To be fair, Rocket Launchers and MRM's could be your friend.

Yeah, The kintaro has some good MRM/RL loadout options. I just happened to see someone running a stock treb yesterday and had a nostalgia moment. lol

I've been running a couple of ER Med/MRM builds; though not builds I've shared here so far. They're stronger than they were, and they synergize well with MRMs; so they've got that, and I'm pretty sure you could get some high-damage laser builds with supporting Rockets, I just haven't had the c-bills to try.

^ about said that as well,
the MRM + ER meds or even normal Med works very well not only on the trenchbucket but several others "shitty" mehcs as well with trade off of mobility vs armor

Now that I think about it, there are also the Streak SRMs... And they don't have huge cooldowns like clan versions do...

But I won't build any SSRM streak boat myself: I prefer the good old way of aiming your target and focus whatever you like instead of "just point in its general direction and keep the trigger pulled"

Vomit Laser 5J (3xLL + 2xML) is quite good for scouting, but I can't tell how will perform versus a very good and organised scout team.
MRM hybrid (5xML + 1xMRM30 or MRM40) is decent for quickplay and quite fun to play: with a big XL engine you can zip around, jump and vomit some damage quite effectively, despite having kinda bad hitboxes and no quirk for the fragile center torso.

7M with 2xMRM30, 2xMRM40 or 1xMRM30 + 1xMRM40 (MRM ghost heat is reaaaally low) is basically a poptart that shoots LRMs. Really funny if your team does not nascar like headless chickens and you manage to alfa strike the same guy a couple of times. Completely stripping the armor of a linebacker with only 3 alfa strikes is priceless, especially because you can do it in around 20 seconds at most

Already have an ENF-4R for the laservomit which is tankier than the Treb, but the Medium Murm jumps seems fun :)

Gets really slow with 30s though, it seems. Considering to run the very cool 20s with some ERML at the same range.

I'm thinking to buy Trebbie, when I'll buy both sides Orions & Highlanders of course :D
    Mostly for scouting :)

I can't tell about the IS Orion and Highlander (even though they look like they become obsolete), but clan side I can tell you for sure the Highlander IIC is obsolete and has been surpassed by the Mad Cat MKII. Unless you are looking for something tanky and durable, the only mech I can recommend you for sure is the Orion-IIC-A because you can fit it as the perfect ghost-heat-less brawler: 4xSRM6+A, 1xUAC20.

About the trebuchet, I still need to try out the Wolverine which has similar laser quirks but way tankier CT (but no quirks on side torsoes, sigh) and extensively try the trebuchet in scouting... I can't really say how much is good or bad in scouting compared to other mechs.

I need to think... Also I throught about taking Awesome, but still I need to check for builds with new tech.
For now, MAL-2P is doing it's job pretty well.

And for Highlanders... I have Mad Cat MKII, and I like them, but I need something... else... to play with :p

And for Orions... I saw that I'm quite good in trial ON1-V and ON-IIC-C, also trial (and I've managed to get "Yup, Dead for sure" in Clan one - just had 18% with everything cherry-red minus left leg, still armored but damaged in yellow and one last pellet for melted already LB-10X) :D
