Did something similar, but with DWF-Prime set-of-8 quirks (not even sure that they are).

    I call it the Biceptional.

I'll also throw my take in here; I kept the Gauss out of the side torsos due to them getting opened up before arms in a DWF. I lack the set of 8 but they're probably questionable to have at best, anyway.

Ah, should rate this, since it's hilarious to delete components and entire mechs' with~

    5/5,
This builds puts to good use 2 very common heat scale groups (LL and ML) while even using the 2 max cap gauss rifle altogheter. Despite the bigger alpha with 2xHLL, the lack of 2 DHS IMHO hurts too much the cooling ratio: I definitely prefer the ERLL version, plus since Gausses are mounted on the arms, they can't be critted if someone shoots you in the back.

This mech is really hard to use because despite the huge alfa strike, it's easy to spread the laser damage due to the long burn time, plus it is slow and has crappy yaw and acceleration, further requiring great skills and experience to evaluate where to postion and how to poke.

Assuming you have very good aim, you can 2 shot most assaults and possibly one shot anything with dark yellow / orange CT.

The main issue with this mech are hardpoint positioning and heat generated (without skills, if I alfa strike I jump to 70-80% heat): you must get used to them. Also, don't worry about ammo: you will die before using them all, unless your right legs will be destroyed)

Give it a try, but be prepared to suck badly the first games. This is not an easy mech to use (slow, squishy due to both no quirks and huge side torsoes, quite large / bad hardpoints), but it's worth the hassle once you get used to it.

If you are fresh and someone ends up inside your crosshair, he will regrets the decision to leave his cover.

I'm using a Direwolf W because I'm poor and I didn't want to buy a whole 20 milions worth DireWolf Prime to "exploit" only +2.5% exp bonus.

Question for CarloArmato: Why do you put the ER large lasers in the arms? I haven't played my dire whale very much, but I was under the impression that the head and ct slots were higher than the arms.

I'm replying 2 months later... I didn't noticed this comment, LOL
Anyway... Because I didn't thought about mounting them in CT or head and I overlooked those hardpoints.

EDIT: it does actually looks a lot nicer

  9. Too bad it is invalid, but you can sub in a TC1 and get down to 16 weapons.

Nice sustained dps with the micro pulses and gauss... If anything was engaging the front a DWF at 90 meters.

Better with the original version with more heat sinks.
