This build has a high range and good dps. It is recommended to skill the survival tree, cooldown and magazine capacity.
You have no ghost heat. An AC5 generates only 1.5 heat per shot, without any skills. That's only 9 heat per alpha strike. So it's very hard to overheat.
For those really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG matches. Alternatively, you can compromise. It's possible with this Light-Ferro build to drop even more armor, to pick up more ammo, or a larger engine, as the slots are available. But for a 'Mech this size, armor is kinda a necessity.
I'm thinking speed may be more important for these things than maxing armor in the arms and legs. Especially after Survival skill nodes.
Shamefully overpowered 6xAC5 meta strikes back. Ghost heat is not an issue due to -10% ballistic heat gen quirk: 1.4 heat per shot, with the 6th AC5 you get an additional 0.67 heat for a total of 9.07 instead of 8.4 heat... Very manageable thanks to the skill tree and the forementioned ballistic quirk. Simply aim CT, fire every time you can. You can easily annihilate anything both at range and up close... Obviously do NOT expose yourself in the open if you have to face any incredibly fast mech, but ATM there should be none in 1st division. Strip armor if you prefer to have more ammo or you have not unlocked yet ammo skill nodes.
There are no lights in Division 1. Or do you mean a lighter mech like a HMN or if someone were to take an S7 build to QP?
TBH I didn't bothered to check available mechs in 1st division: I assumed that if there were light mechs in division 2, there would have also been in division 1. That's great news anyway 1st post edited
