I've had some good games with this simple build. I consider it a budget build because I only had to buy the Endo-Steel and the DHS upgrades to make this mech work for me. I already had the medium lasers and the AC5's and the STD270 to make this work, so it was a no-brainer.
5/5, Delightfully symmetrical and very efficient, well quirked and speedier than expected. This plays like the 3C but with a pair lasers less, which improves the overall sustained DPS Slightly cooler version with more ammo and full slot usage.
5/5, I run Excalibaard's build with no extra heatsinks and a larger engine. Also, I put the AC5s and arm MLs in the same arm rather than split them between right and left arms.
@Starmaker that's my alteration later as well, couldn't deal with ML taking up different spots, on different arms, and better convergence this way. Great adaptation! Here I've built it with LE for more speed, though budget goes out of the window:
Ah yeah. Budget. I was trying to improve upon Excalibaard's adaptation by putting in an LFE280 for more speed and shuffling armor a little for another DHS, but it's only still budget if you already own an LFE280, haha. Shared because it's different than the asymmetrical one that came after. (That asymmetry of the arm hard points is weird. I agree.) This was my first build for the Dao Breaker, which I still use. The ERML version is interesting but has less sustain. The Dao Breaker does have a range quirk, after all. _
Here's a highlight video from a little while back of me playing this Dao Breaker build (from my last post, modified to take an LFE280). Great, simple mech. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/465143473
