DON'T TEST ME. Why did I even think of this.... Feel free to swap ammo/DHS for Artemis or a laser for TAG.
Despite what's been said, and perhaps because of the latest changes to LRMs, I took this build out and really knocked the wind out of some sails. I own just the Rancor, so the lack of ECM is telling, but I was able to provide both excellent indirect fire support using chain fire, and switched to the alpha for the times I was in direct. Managed 2 kills per match, and 600-700+ damage as well.
Good games with LRMs were very dependent on how much AMS was on the field even before the patch. Now it is much, much worse. Very easy to have 4x AMS with only two mechs in range of the target. I guess PGI wants us to boat 4x or more launchers to get any damage through. https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/272491-complete-missile-vs-ams-chart/ On the other hand if there is no AMS on the field, damage gets stupid high. This doesn’t seem like a good balance point.
1/5, LRM boat assaults are a detriment to the team. As an assault you need to be up front to share armour.
I agree with the sharing armor part. This is the only LRM missile boat that I will consistently be no less than 2nd line, and it has proven to be more beneficial in my playstyle. Getting those alphas in with the direct LOS bonus is pretty sweet.
_ Since artemis isn't that important and stealth armor is a thing. Group 1 - ERLL and Tag Group 2 - 4xLRM20 Group 3 - TAG Group 4 - LRMs on chain fire Group 5 - Top 2x LRMs
