A moderately versatile, but rather high-risk/high-reward brawler build I found to be viable and worthy of sharing. Two PPCs and 10uPLs generated too much heat to allow me to sustain fire, so ditched one PPC for 2x MPLs + 2 DHS and voilá, got a jack-of-all-trades mech of sorts. Does a decent point-blank alpha which can be followed up with 2 wubs-only barrages to obliterate most mechs with the following sequence. Alpha->uPL-MPL-uPL again -> 128 dmg with a decent heat headroom remaining assuming heat gen/cool run/heat containment nodes are capped. Short laser duration and fast recycle sequences allow for some room of error. First match with it boiled down as the screenshot shows below, probably was a lucky round but still, 5 kills is nothing to scoff at even in a lucky streak. Also good for countering piranhas, I genuinely hate them.
micropulses are completely out of control this patch, and this mech makes good use of it! Below is a non-lacerator required variant that ditches the LAMS and has better leg armor. _
I'd still go with 2xERPPC + ERuL's: _ 2xERPPC gives you much more presence in the mid/long range, but you're still a nasty brawler. Have to go max heat gen and operations, but should be very workable.
Had a build with 2xERPPC and 10uERLs and it indeed worked out well, until I found myself in CQB despite my best efforts to avoid it. ERPPCs generate way too much heat to be used in sustained brawling, at least I found them more a liability than an asset and 10 uERLs didn't have the oomph either to finish 1v1s fast in most cases. Few things annoy me more than a shutdown 0.2 second before the last shot to win the duel. As a matter of fact, the reason I kept one of the PPCs is more of a psychological warfare concept to lay down supressing fire from sniping range to get a few seconds for repositioning or to do some token dmg or just as a distraction. The opponent will not necessarily know I have only 1 until gets a long-enough lock on me or have a really good eyesight. Suffice to say, the build I posted is somewhat experimental, so far I found it more enjoyable than the "vanilla" 2xERPPC+10uERL one, but it could be very much attributed to the sensation of novelty.
