    Not necessarily. The key to flamers is cycling them. 4 weapons groups of 2 flamers on cycle could go for a pretty long time without overheating.

    Give it a try with a Jenner 7F, and equip 6 flamers and go into training grounds. I chose Forest Colony and the Cicada as my test subject. Using the above stated setup it takes 20 seconds to kill the Cicada, and only builds up +/- 10 heat. Using all six in a single weapons group as an "Alpha" strike kills the same Cicada in 11 seconds and brings you up to 90 heat in the process.
