Put this together when I wanted some light mech conquest dogfighting action for a change of pace. Simple concept, SPLas are great dogfight performance lasers, and BAP'd SSRMs make chasing down an SDR-5D or ERLLas RVN-3L my pleasure. From there, I went with the heaviest compliment of armor, and 2 JJs so that if one blows, I'm not a penguin. Or, ostrich. Flightless bird. AMS and spare heat sinks would require a significant weapon, engine, ammo, and/or armor downgrade, which seemed to defeat the purpose more than they would enhance my ability to pursue it. Desired role is engaging the smaller mechs against whom Streaks are something to be concerned about. Works great as part of a lance/team as well, keeping lights off your fatties so your fatties can focus on the real threats, and not an MG Locust behind them. Runs hot, you'll need to chose between spray DPS of SSRM or directed DPS of SPLas on an enemy soft spot once your heat gets critical.
Pretty much the cookie cutter JR7-D. This is how I run it: I run this swapping SPL for ML and back again depending on lance composition (ML for solo light, SPL for wolfpack). I put everything in the LT for the best chance of critsoaking. Besides, how often does your side torso get crit anyway. SPL: Better DPS/HPS, shorter duration for better accuracy Dat range ML: Better alpha and range Heat and duration
