!STOP!... now before you begin to assume... No, this build is not too hot. And no, your SRMs are not lacking in ammo. Yig is not named after Lovecraft's Father of Serpents for no reason. The logic of it can be slippery. You must uncoil your mind. And you probably have the whole concept of this build backwards in your mind, my mortal friend.

The SRMs are not your primary weapon... the Medium Lasers are.

Yig operates on the same principles as the ye old Meta-Timber Wolves (2x cLPL, 3x cERML). The difference is you've got less armor, and less laser alpha power, but you run cooler, you're more agile, AND, and this is my favorite part, all your lasers are arm mounted.

    The Combat Doctrine:
With Yig, your primary objective in a fight is to get set up at mid-range, wait patiently, and then take advantage of poor enemy maneuvers. When an enemy exposes himself, you dump your green venom into his torso. If he doesn't move you do it again. If he still doesn't move, you repeat the process until he decides to move, or he dies.

With twenty-three double heat-sinks you can fire all five lasers up to 4 times on Tourmaline Desert without shutting down. That's enough to take an Atlas's side torso. On top of that, since all your weapons are on your swiveling arms, you can easily reach most any angle, and trace most any enemy mech to keep all your damage in one place.
Of course, you are surely curious about the SRMs. What are they there for? Well, this is what sets Yig apart from it's admittedly more efficient Vomit-Wolf cousin. To be frank Yig is not a great splat dog, so, that means you shouldn't rely on him to be a splat dog. You're SRMs are there to serve one major purpose... To do as the spitting cobra does... That means suppressing fire...

With your primary SRM firing group set to chain fire, you can ensure that any enemy mech that tries to push you out of your medium range comfort zone is punished by a fully-continuous hail of what is essentially mech-flak.

Do not make the mistake of group firing your SRMs in a brawl unless you're going for a kill shot you know you can make. Alpha firing is hot, and incurs a heat scale penalty for dealing the same DPS. If you're chain firing, and you're landing your shots around your opponents cockpit, he's going to be taking the same damage and he's going to be next to blind.

What that does, is it takes some of your opponents advantage away. If they are weaker than you, that means they are as good as dead. If they are stronger it gives Yig time to backpedal, slither back into cover, or, best of all, call his teammates to focus fire on the blinded target, who can probably hardly tell what's going on.
...there are, of course, still times when it is smart to fire your whole volley, just not when your in the middle of a heated battle. Splat shotting is most valuable as a tactic when your target is only going to be in view for a second, and you need to snapshot them, or if one solid blow will assuredly take them down. Just bare in mind that your ammo is somewhat limited, so this should not be your primary method of attack.

In closing, piloting Yig is not about bold moves, it's about patience and constantly punishing your opponents whenever they take the offensive.

    The Modules:

    Weapon 1: cERML Range 5.
    Consumable 1: Cool Shot 9x9
...is really up to you. I would advise against SRM cooldown, as nine times out of ten it'll have zero effect on your performance. You're supposed to be chain firing after all. For weapons cERML cooldown can be helpful for faster damage, but then SRM range is also helpful for starting your defensive barrage sooner. As far as Mech modules go, follow your usual preferences.

Now slither forth and incite infernal frustration.
