The Idea - a Mech Build Game, which gives some Inspiration on how one can buy & customize all three Variants of a Clan Mech, so to have them "always ready for launch" in your garage. You can then instantly drop into a Game, whenever you quit a Game with the other Variant. Just for the faster Grinding.

    Game Rules:

    1. Take a Clan Chassis of your choice
    2. Take a look at all the Variants and the given Omnipods
    3. Build three viable Builds with the Omnipods, one for each Variant. You may give the Builds Names like you usual do when posting Builds here. If you like, you can give the Omnipod-Replacements in the form [Location: Omnipod X], e.g. [LT: B], while LT=Left Torso, RT=Right Torso, LA=Left Arm, RA=Right Arm, etc. etc.
    4. You may not use a Omnipod twice for two different Builds, but you may switch the Omnipods from Variant X to Variant Y. Just don't forget - an used Omnipod is not available for another Variant.
    5. Extra available Omnipods like the C-Omnipod for the Kitfox can be used ofc.

    6. [Important!] At the Beginning of your Post - First rate each of the three Variants of your Pre-Poster from 1-5 Stars, 1=Crap to 5=Excellent. You must give a Reason why you rate as such and give a short Tip how to optimize. Pls no Smurfy-Link here for your Min-Max Idea, just to keep the Thread slim. Just write something like e.g. "Too hot, try to drop a JJ and replace it with another Heatsink."
    7. You don't have to answer the Criticism/Rating to your builds. Just read them, accept them and try their Tips out.
    [hr]
***The Possibilities are endless, so give your best to make some awesome builds to present here!!!

Have fun and don't be too harsh with the Feedback/Tips :)

Allrite, I shall begin the Game! :p

    My chosen Mech-Chassis: NOVA/BLACK HAWK

Build #1 (Prime) "The Standard Workhorse" [LT/RT: S]

Build #2 (B) "The Killstealer" [LT: Prime, LA: S]

    Build #3 (S) "The Protector" [RT: A, LT: B, LA: B]

Might as well get KFX out of the way: (Edit, lawl, misread and thought I was rating my OWN builds, not Blagg's ;p

(I know I did them all as the Prime chassis...I'm in a hurry before work ;) I'll fix it when I get there)

    The Defender (KFX-PRIME, RA: C):

1000+ Club (KFX-S, stock everything Blagg happy :p

Splat Fox (KFX-D, no Omnipods changed out. Could lose .5 tons SRM ammo for S leg and 1 JJ):

One of the better builds for the KFX for sure. Good reach, very managable heat. Triple AMS is very nasty for opposing LRM boats. 4/5 for a good role player. This is how I'd build the prime if I were to use multiple AMS, though:

I hate the ERLLas beam duration at the moment, but as it will be lowered by 25% again, this is pretty difficult to rate. I for myself don't like as much as I thought I would... might have to do something with the time you have to show yourself for doing full damage with the lasers. I prefer cLPLas or cERPPC for such a trolling mech. 3/5 at the moment, probably 4/5 when the cERLLas are reworked.

Never played this thing myself, but I can see that it can dish out a LOT of damage in a short amount of time. This isn't a typical light, but probably rather plays like a medium mech and excels at quick flanking maneuvers. The fragility of the KFX might be a problem, though. Would rate 4/5 from my gut feeling, but this is no final verdict for sure.

    -------------------------------------

    Summoner
Ah, the step child of the clan heavies... there are a lot of issues the way it's implemented in MWO and I am still hoping that we're allowed to remove some of the fixed JJs and DHS sometimes, but well, that's a whole different topic. The way it stands it's one of the most difficult-to-build mechs out there for sure.

I took Blagg's challenge to the heart and created some builds basing on every variant's own hardpoints. This isn't very realistic for sure, but some of them are still very good builds. The variant lacking most from this is obv. the PRIME:

This is a variant on the prime variant from the TRO, the main differences going for max armor by downgradign the cLBX-10. Mounting a CLPLas would be viable as well for sure. Firepower wise this feels like a Centurion, though.

cGauss + cERPPC is another possibility, but well.. Stormcrow can do this as well. There's isn't much you can do with Prime's omnipod. *sigh*

The Summoner B is build to be missile boat. The original B isn't that bad concept-wise, but just not fits MWO. Here's an optimized version of the B concept:

This aside, I think the B can make for an good splat-mech while still mounting some long range punch, thus my entry for this contest:

Artmis-powered SRM24 on a very agile chassis. LRM15+A for some added reach, but which can be used in addition to the SRMs as well thanks to not having a minimum range.

Finally, the Summoner D can do a very good brawler with added group protection in the form of dual AMS:

Feel free to substitute the cUAC-10 with an LBX, lower the amount of ammo and mount a TC1. The basic principle remains the same, though:

I changed my KFX builds a bit ;) Going full SRM4+A helps with ammo a bit for the Splat Fox. Also changed the "Reach Out" to Lan's "Dealer", as it's one of the most powerful weapons to give your team with NARC and a PPC for disruption.

Figured I'd also share a SMN-B build, which needs no Omnipod changes. I named this mech "You're An Ass"

3-5 stars, depending on use. In PUG play, 3 star, but in groups with TS, it is a death dealer. You fire the SRMs in 2 groups (left side, right side), so you never fire more than 3 at one time. If this mech is the first into a fight, it dies instantly...but if it is the second into a fight behind a DWF, WHK, or DDC, it will ruin the enemy. Light mechs dissolve before it, and even heavy/assault mechs get shredded by the concerted force of its missile barrage.

Right up until you get Alpine or Tourmaline, of course. ;)

No one rated Blagg so I will :

Build #1 (Prime) "The Standard Workhorse" [LT/RT: S] 5/5 Long range high firepower, short range high and fast recycle firepower, crits from 4 MG, relatively cool and with 5 JJ...on a 50 tonner? what to ask more ? :D

Build #2 (B) "The Killstealer" [LT: Prime, LA: S] 3/5 I don't really like that LBX10 in the arm, gonna be destroyed so soon, and the single SL, not a fan of that too :D would work better this way imo :

Drops one arm that is still very fragile, but pumps the much needed leg armor.

Build #3 (S) "The Protector" [RT: A, LT: B, LA: B] 4/5 this build does what it is supposed to do, solid.

[member=4464]Durandal[/member] you have used the C-Arm for the Variants twice. That is not allowed. You may update one of the builds with another RA-Omnipod. The idea is to have three Variants in the Garage "ready for launch". That means you can instantly drop into a game without doing work in the Mechlab everytime (e.g. when leveling the Chassis and you quit a losing game with one Variant of them)

[member=4626]fx8230[/member] Thx for the review! Totally reasonable point of critism. One can replace the LBX for an UAC10. Works fine too! :p

Now i review Aylek's Summoners and directly show how differently one can build three Variants for the same Chassis with the given Omnipods by simply switching some of them between the Variants.

Rating of his Summoner Prime 3/5: Downgrading the LBX10 to a '5 is an interesting idea, so you can have more Armor. It's a viable Allrounder, which doesn't excel neither in Sniping, Lurming nor Close Combat. Specialising in one aspect would have been deadlier.

Rating of his Summoner B 3/5: The single LRM+A with 1.5ton seems to be somehow off for me. I'd rather do 5SRM6+A or 2LRM15+3SRM4 (good Allrounder).

Rating of his Summoner D 5/5: I like this a lot. Even though a Nova/Stormcrow can load the same weaponset, but the good thing of this Variant is the Double AMS. It is still a powerful Setup for sustained battles.

Here are my three Summoners in comparison:

Build #1 (Prime) "Strikemoner" [RA: B]

    Build #2 (B) "LRMmoner" [RA: D]

Build #3 (D) "Snipemoner" [RA: Prime]

Pff didn't notice the bit about not using repeat variants...but really, who doesn't own multiple C-Arms for their foxes? :p Changed the loadout for a new one, the only one I've broken 1k with in a KFX.

Timberwolf time, it seems. The rules I followed easily: I just used each model's own omnipods. Or in other words, each variant only uses it's own variant's omnipods. Simple, huh?.

TBR Prime "A little bit of everything"

    TBR S "Lurmaggedon"

    TBR C "Shotgun Wolf"

Tried to seek 3 warhawks and give them 3 different playstyles.

WHK-B: found this build in the builds section! Edited it with the WHK-A torso for missile CD reduction.

WHK-P: Quad LPL = quad fun!

    WHK-A: Sustained damage!

Alternatively, the original WHK-B build and some sort of dual UAC20 WHK-A with only the left arms swapped out are possible, but I find this more creative.

Gonna try and revive/necro this in case there are more people that want to try without buying new Omnipods instantly.

Ebon Jaguar (with 4 variants, but also working for PRIME,A and B):

    EBJ-PRIME, The LittleBoomJag(uar):

2 CU/AC10 backed up by 2cMPL. Similar but not derived of Enileph's BBC and Dekontoroga's Brawling Jaguar

    EBJ-A, Moves Like Jade Jagger

Based on Solahma's Build, except that I moved one ERML to the left Side Torso (EBJ-B) because I did not feel that good about having a complete dead side yet.

    EBJ-B, PUG-Master Flash

Based on PyckenZot's Build (the version without MGs). Only difference is the EBJ-PRIME right torso as the EBJ-B-RT is needed for the PRIME

    EBJ-C, Streak Jaguar-Ultra

Similar but not based on Cleghorn6's build. This one was the last one, which makes it the least optimized.

    I'm curious of your opinions.
