Sorry if this has been asked before or if i am just blind. Where can i find the builds for the current trail mechs and perhaps some discussion on them?

I'm a new player with 20mil saved up and currently considering my first mech, i figured that i should study some of the trails to figure out their weaknesses and strengths.

    What do you mean?
If you are talking about trial mechs, just look up their model number and check on the corresponding section.

FYI almost NO ONE will use the mech stock, so those Trial (C) mech are just the regular version of the mech, with different preloads and extra xp when you play it. basically you can buy the regular version with cbills just the same.

I forgot what trial mech they are offering right now as we almost never use them (most likely we have our own tooled out version already)
But looking into the non(C) version and you can get the same thing. 20mil cbills can get you a couple mech. Remember not to spend them all on buying mech, buy 1-2 of them only as upgrading them and retool takes quite a few millions each. Just upgrading to DHS would take 1.5 mil each (and only fucking retards use SHS, with a rare few build exceptions)

Do you have any idea on what mech and weapons you like?
Maybe we can help you select your first mech, or give you some ideas?

I'm still getting familiar with the mechs. I think anything in the heavy class with high mounted weapons would be nice, blue lasers and an ac10 for range and SRM's for short range. I've read some guides and basically going with the assault escort role most of the time.

Warhammer. The WHM series might be a good start, good mech where you can pack lots of AC. You can do 2x AC10.
Don't try to get both ballistic, missile and energy all on the same mech at first, it will be hard to handle.

You can buy with cbills or MC. Widowmaker te Hero is MC only but you can make do without for now.

    For the build.
1 ALWAYS make sure your engine is 250 or above. You get an internal DHS for free inside engine every 25 rating up to 250, and these function better.
2 You have lots of space left, consider adding FF for extra tonnage, you can at least load up some armor.

Personally I think SRM6 is not worth too good without +A due to spread, you can downgrade to SRM4 if you want. In which case you can get a pair of ML so you can zombie (greate thing about this chassis) or get more speed/armor.

    Thank you.

I took your advice and went with your build before buying, swapped out the SRM6's for SRM4's, dropped 1 ton of ammo, added 2 medium lasers and another DHS.
I'm getting around 500 dmg per match which i think is good. Is buying the other variants worth it to get elite?

-- fixed build path for you, cheers! MOD

Yes, you should allways try to get elite skills. It can be cost intensive - and @some chassis frustrating - but you will feel the difference. But even if leveling gets hard @some variant, dont use your GXP - you'll need them to unlock modules like radar deprivation and weapon modules.

Centurions are a good choice for starting (began with them too). I got the A and YLW (Hero for MC that isn't seen very often these days) and later the D (didn't like it) and then the AL and AH, which both are great. I would recommend the AH (Can di AC 20 and some SRMs or many SRMs) for you and as third the A - if you like SRM and Zombie - or the D if you like LBX with good Quirks (D is expensive because of the XL300 engine, but you'll need this engine size often. Try to wait for a sale for this one!)

For this series, A is a must. This is THE ZOMBIE HUGGER BUILD.
Once upon a time you can survive as low as 1-2% health and keep on limping.
You start with something like this, adjust shield arm armor/DHS/ammo to your liking

    OR, for shotgun without +A

It is cheap to build too, around 8million including tweaks and upgrades, no need for XL engine.

As for the 3rd choice, YLW is fun and pretty and iconic, but it is a hero and would cost MC. You can get any other of the series I guess. AH is fun but rather hard to use due to the lack of energy backup, though it would be the only other CN9 that can have AC20 or 2x UAC5. If you just want to play with a bit of ballistics then use this. If not you can run 2xAC5 and other stuff just fine with D.

Very nice, i just completed all the basics for the CN9-AL and now moving on to the CN9-A. I think i will go with your +A build with an 250 engine instead, think i will just have to get used to not having long range weapons.

What advantages do i get with other mechs once i get elite with all 3 CN9's?

btw i am thinking of opening one the supply caches i got with MC (got 3 so far)
Here are some pics, hope they load:

Does rarity play a role in chance or is it 12.5% to get any one of them?

Also thanks to the friendly Mod for fixing the link, what was i doing wrong?

You allways need 3 variants of a chassis basiced to elite them. But as soon as you got 3 variants of a weight class elited (in your case all 3 CN9) you can master any elited chassis.
For any mech, if you got all 4 elite skills, your variants basics skills get doubled.

Unfortunately the % is not 12,5 so it is hard to get rare items. Only got crap, some mc, cbills and one mechbay so far.

But I only use free keys (events) on the better caches. (Your second one looks good, the first onr is crap -> 50.000 CBills^^)

I'd recommend to NEVER spend MC on Caches AND NEVER convert XP ->GXP.

Save your MC for MechBay Sales - I guess during loyality event there will be one - and get as many for 150MC as you can.

Try to get the active player reward on Oct. 18th (100 matches played since last year), there is also a free mechbay.

    Awesome, thank you very much.

I'm not too worried about Cbills since 150k-200k seems to be the average per match without premium.

Basically unless you get multiple of wonderful items (like 3+ of them) I would say just sell that supply cache for the 50k it is worth. I generally not open supply cache.

Buy MC only when there is a sale on MC, or when there is some reasonable bonus.

Buy mechbay during sales, and stock them up, play events to get extra mechbay and MC. You need loads of mchbay in the end.

Don't convert XP to GXP unless you have totally mastered the mech completely, and even then only do it at double conversion events and when you get tons of MC left over. (You should not have that problem yet, but a few of my mech have 20k+ xp sitting on it for no reason, waiting for double conversion event) You do need some GXP for unlocking modules. That is something most of us forgot about here since I am sure most regular you talk to here have every module thing unlocked if not more.

NEVER EVER EVER buy champion (C) mch since their function is the same as the regular non cbills version, and the extra xp boost is not worth it, as you don't even get a better paintjob. HOWEVER, use (C) mech instead of the normal one if you can get them for free in events.

It is always nice to paint your mech purple.

Completed the basics for the A,AH and AL. I have around 3Mil left over which i plan to save for a WHM. For some reason, the WHM mechs are listed as costing MC in mechsmurfy (choosing other mechs gives me the CB price)

I'm planning to start playing the faction wars scouting with my CN9's, anything i should know before starting?

don't start fractions yet, you need at least 4 mech with various tonage to make a decent deck.
WHM will be available for cbills soon I think. I am not sure but I was buying packages.

Meanwhile save up the cbills and level up.
Learn maps, game modes and tactics.
Go into the builds sections of mechs you had and try things.

WHM are allready out for CBills, the prices on Smurfy aren't up to date.

WHM are a good choice with different loadout options. The black widow - hero - is a good choice if you want to spend mc (real money) on a mech.

Faction Play - Scouting - isn't a game mode for CN9 (my opinion)

    Thanks, will do.

    Thanks.

I played one faction match and got pretty messed up, i think it was a premade (do faction wars allow premade?) because they had 2 jenners with SRM's and 2 hunchbacks with long range weapons. The match was also on a NA Server even though i ticked the EU server option at the top.

Is there a way to get targeting info on teammates? I know you can press Q to see their health but i would also like to see their weapons load out to figure out at which range they will engage.

All Fraction play are on NA server regardless.
You can always ask your teammates about their loadouts.
Faction Play - Scouting requires fast mech, not the loadouts you are haveing right now. Probably better for things like ravens.

Warhammer is love. But 4mill cbills is not enough for even one tooled up WHM, make money, save up!

I'm thinking of buying one and then adding stuff as i earn CB.

I was thinking of going with the build but i fear that it will run a little hot.
