It has taken me a long time to like this setup. Now it has become one of my favorite 'Mechs, and is my default "go to" 'Mech.
I like the OP build better than the mod, seeing as you can get behind cover before the missiles land, most of the time. That said, I like my personal build best, but if I ever wanted to run a super cool machine, I would give this a spin first.
It always feel weird no to use all the hardpoints on this variant, but it's an interesting build. Did you tried with one less DHS and a 260STD? On paper it looks cool enough, and I like my hunchies being as fast not slow as possible. Also did you tried with the LLs in the hunch? At first it's what I though you did. I see the point of your weapon placement and I think you're right but I'm just curious.
I'm of two minds about this build. On the one hand, it keeps larges and mediums grouped together well and it preserves firepower in the event of hunch loss. On the other hand, I really want to put the larges in the hunch for sniping.
Keep in mind if you put a LLas in the hunch you have to put a DHS in the arm, meaning losing an arm you will run hotter
Somehow I think the low weapon count on this build mans that this design might be better done on other mechs, is thinking of a CN9 or TBT. Have to test to be sure though. On the side note, I love the arm weapons. Fun to watch people gtinding on your hunch all the while you core them with the LLas on your arms.
you are right, i'm having success with this build as well, though it affords to attack from safe distance. a recent match:
It's definitely not a build to go charging into the fray with, but if you hang back, you can dish out a lot of hurt.
If they ever introduce end-composite in MWO, an up armored version of this is going to be the 4P I roll in. Ender Until then, I'll have to 'settle' for Alt Config A: Ender
Recently came back to the game and picked up the champion Hunchback with some of my founder's MC. Having the 6 mediums in the hunch was really pissing me off. Found this build and absolutely love it. Thank you. The Hunchback still isn't my favorite 'mech but I am enjoying this.
