Squeezes in the most possible DHS at decent speed and armor, with 4 PPCs that became usable after quirks. The speed, armor and cooling are not bad for a 4 PPC heavy ! The biggest drawback is XL engine for sure. So I added a STD variant too, if someone wants to use it in CW as an opener, It's cooler, too, and it's basically the STD version of 2x PPC 1x AC10 with worse weapon mounts, but a STD engine and all the weapons on the same side. With proper shielding when you drop the shielding side you have the same cool eff and firepower. MPL quirks : Laser Duration -10% Energy Weapon Heat Generation -7.5% Energy Weapon Cooldown 10% The XL version with backup MPLs is far from the original concept, but the natural evolution, uses another quirk to gain very accurate MPL action, reducing the duration; Snipe with high mounts from cover as long as possible, with very nice speed to reposition, and when they come to you switch to 4 MPL. This might be another stand-alone version, but I didn't want to open another topic so I'll just leave it here ! While I think 2xPPC + 1xA10 is better, especially for the heat and weapon mounts, this can be a funny alternative to run for a full energy build, and a nice defensive mech opener in CW. Pick up range module over cooldown module if you have to decide, because it's quite hot so it won't benefit a lot from the CD, while the range will always help.
This deserves it's own thread now with the quirks, it should be playable. At least in group with someone to help vs pesky facehuggers.
With a bit of hesitation (without close range defenses or mates on VOIP), I did some solo drops in this yesterday and out of four games, averaged 350-500 damage plus 1-2 kills per game. Caustic drew down the damage average to 350 and Frozen City Night nudged 600. All games were shorter than nine minutes aswell. Best weapongroups has been arms on 1 in a chainfire, torso on 2 and grouped. Fire arms to track enemy and when zeroed in or enemy is near stationary, hit him with torso PPC's. Will continue playing this build a bit more before I make conclusions.
