This build is a blast. 60 damage alpha strikes are a scary, scary thing for anything other than assaults. Even assaults take a nasty beating. Nothing quite beats the feeling of starting off a game by taking of an ECM Raven's head. Heat is the biggest problem here. Two alpha strikes in a row will turn the thing into an oven. Its also slow, so I would avoid getting into too many brawls. Enjoy Edit: My weapon groups are fairly simple. 1 is an alpha strike, and 2 is all 6 PPCs in chain fire.
I'm looking at doing a variant of this with my 5S (when I get it later this week), which will be 4 PPCs and 2 ER PPCs. I'm thinking of going XL to fit in the extra DHS as this will not be a brawler. I'll post the build I'm thinking of in the 5S section when I get it set. Going to put the ER PPCs high on the arms, and then do button 1 left side regulars, button 2 right side regulars, and button 3 ERs.
NB: I use STK-3F for the torso twist, but you can make the same build from a 3H and 5S. Nothing much to say, if you faced one of those 6*PPCs stalkers you know how mean they are, if you piloted one you know how vulnerable they are. The idea behind this build was to fit as much DHS as possible (*) and the biggest engine. Some may disagree about the XL engine, and they might be right considering how exposed the side torsos are, but: - as a light pilot I just can't stand a 50km/h mech; - big engine = internal DHS (x2 dissipation instead of x1.4). Since it weight the same, you can mount some ERPPCs without any modification if you think it's not hot enough. I use 3 weapon groups: 1 is alpha strike, 2 is the 4 arm-mounted PPCs (when you aim at a low/high target), 3 is chain-fire on the arm-mounted PPCs (for finish and ECM disrupt). (*) actually there's a possibility for two more DHS => heat dissipation oriented variant Two more DHS. Not sure if it's worth the heavy loss of armor. There is another possibility for one more DHS, decent armor and little slower speed (280XL and 432 armor - like on Skribs' build) but the dissipation gain is not that high since you lose one internal DHS for two externals.
To my understanding, the 2x bonus to DHS only applies to the first 10, so more inside the engine will not increase your efficiency. I run a similar build on my 5S, I switched two of them to ER PPCs so I have something for every range, but man is it hot. This thing is mean, but I can guarantee you any light that can get close to you will make quick work of you, unless you have help.
I'm planning to go something like this: I run a 5M with 4 ERLLas from time to time, and even he get's very hot. I just don't believe that 6x PPC makes any sense. If you alpha them, you'll instantly shut down, making you easy prey. Chain firing 6 PPC don't make sense to me as well as you'll always have 1-2 idle. Removing 2 PPC and changing the engine to STD makes you more durable if you have to brawl, or if you get caught up by lights. It also allows 4 additional DHS which greatly improve heat efficiency, letting you do more overall damage. If you have to alpha, you won't instantly shut down or at least recover faster.
This was posted almost a year ago, when base heat was lower and there was no ghost heat penalties. And let me assure you, it worked. It was a DICK move, lol. But, it worked. Now, 4x PPCs on chainfire can work quite well, however, it's still very toasty.
If you like some PPCs on your Stalker that's fine, but you'll want some backup weapons that are capable of dealing damage under 90M as well as for more sustained DPS when the fighting gets close.
thats a recipe for a quick death. In october they introduced "Ghost heat" and this build was the reason
Indeed. This build was essentially a giant middle finger to pretty much everyone. It is no longer a thing, though, fortunately or unfortunately. However you want to look at it. But the responses I got after blasting an Atlas in the face when he decided to peek over a ridge were priceless. Always going to be my favorite build, even if it is no longer viable.
