I actually played last night because you sparked my interest again, and I must say that Scylla and Neith are by far some of my favorite gods. And Thanatos but that's because he is easy mode in pub games.

I also haven't played MWO in some time  just fell out of love, oh well so much for spending the 240 dollars

The last time i have played lol is about a year ago. I left the game thanks to the community (i was happy if i didn't get more than one brainless super arrogant feeder per match (was ranked gold)) and started palying smite a month ago and so far the community is better, the game makes a bit more fun and more game modes. My favorite god so far is sobek love how much it can disturb the enemy.

Hard for me to say which Smite god is my favorite. Until very recently (yesterday...?) I was grinding mastery rank 1 on all the gods. And while some of them were certainly easier than others, I find that once you play a few games with some gods your opinion of them can change dramatically. Loki for example. I played 1 game with Loki and absolutely hated it. So I avoided him to the point where he was the last god I mastered. But the last 6 or 7 games I've played with him have been great. Part of that is probably more experience with the game in general but frankly there's just a right way and a wrong way to Loki. If you Loki wrong you're gonna have a bad time.

Re: Swagni. When this video was posted to reddit some time ago I laughed so hard I couldn't help but hop on the swagni train. But now he uploaded a new video with the skin and holy crap. This guy's videos... hilarious.

I like the Video! Because i also play Garen very much. He is not a competitive Champion because he is weak against range fighters - no skill to close gap or to escape in a sudden. To enrage the Team you need play Jungler Garen - THAT is trollgame!

I still love to play Garen against the raging players. The problem is that there are too many kiddos playing the game. If you have bad luck you get to play with them. The adult players are ok.

Btw is there a God in Smite which is similar to Garen?

Thor has a spin-to-win, but is much more assassin focused.

Yeah Thor has a spin to win but he definitely plays differently than Garen. Thor certainly feels meatier than some of the other assassins (which typically have to get in, dump tons of damage, and get out before dying) but if I remember correctly Garen has insane lane sustain. If you want that in Smite you'd want a warrior or one of the mages that can heal.

I like Tyr, He has a sword cleave and a dash, his third ability is that he switches stances to offensive/defensive, which also reset the cooldowns on the aforementioned cleave and dash. Ultimate is a giant leap that looks like (but doesn't feel like) the darius dunk. Gives him a lot of innate tankyness and damage, and his offensive dash also knocks people up with him.

Guan Yu is a warrior I play a lot recently as well, he has AoE heal, dash and a vertical spin-to-win that reduces resistances. Ultimate puts him on a horse to run and slice through enemies, and if you hit the heal on allies or the dash on enemies, the cooldownw of other skills on cooldown is reduced.

Honestly though you should just try it out or watch some spotlights to find something that you like.

I second Tyr, and also put forth Ares and Odin, some very sweet gods. Lots of fun.

Tyr is great but he has a higher skill curve than many of the other melee gods. Mostly because if you want to play him at his best you need to pick up blink and be skilled enough to blink behind the enemy and then IMMEDIATELY hit your push-dash to knock them back to your allies/tower. With practice I'm sure anyone could do it but compared to other gods like Sun Wukong or Vamana, Tyr just takes too much work for me to be interested.

Speaking of Sun Wukong and Vamana, those are my two favorite warriors. Hercules is arguably the best warrior right now but I don't like his abilities quite as much as the SWK and Big Baby. Although SWK's "bird of nope" is probably a crutch you shouldn't allow yourself to get too used to. His ability to get out of bad situations and/or show up in the nick of time to assist an ally are great and really help beginners... but no other god (except perhaps Geb) can do anything remotely like that. He was nerfed a little while ago so you don't really see him in professional play right now but before that he showed up quite frequently.

Here is a Vamana solo lane video:

SWK is great, I got like 19/5 the first time I randomed him in assault :D
I used to play Hercules a lot but I've gotten worse (or enemies have gotten better) at my 2-1 combo.

Forget what I said earlier, Osiris and Xeblanque are the absolute shit ^_^

Yeah Osiris is a beast. He is a very good warrior that typically gets played in the jungle rather than the solo lane.

Speaking of the jungle I just found this excellent flow chart on the smite reddit. I don't jungle because I find it too intimidating but this flowchart makes it look easy.

Just checking smitefire for good builds. I think i will try out Smite starting with Chinese Gods when i come back home from my Barcelona Holidaytrip. Wu Kong seems to be very interesting, also Guan Yu and Ne Zha.

Avoid Smitefire as a lot of the guides there tend to be outdated. Check out Tiermonster instead. Not only are there some good guides but the site also tracks pro builds in recent matches. Tiermonster pretty much dominates the Smite community when it comes to builds and guides, probably because Drybear (now HiRez Drybear) is highly involved.

By the way, if you're ever looking for a smite streamer to watch so you can learn or just be entertained I recommend Drybear. He has his own channel but also streams on the official smite twitch channel as well. He is pretty good about explaining why he does certain things in game and answers a lot of questions from the chat.

Also, if the great game and epic skins haven't already convinced you that HiRez is just plain awesome check out their series of youtube videos titled "Minion Has Spawned" they're hilarious. Here is the first in the series:

Thx man! I'll definitely check the site and DryBear's Vidz. In LOL I love to play the Champs which are not competitive strong or even viable for competitive gameplay, like Garen, VoliBear, Vi or Urgot. What makes them fun for me are their strong 1v1 Bruiser/Duelist Nature. And it is very satisfying to carry the game with them against some raging wannabe-Pros. I had so many funny games like in the Clip sub7 posted. Always so amusing to destroy their Ego. I mean, it's such a shame to be raped by a non-competitive Champion as one plays the usual Competitive Stars. :D

So im looking for similar Gods im Smite with similar Skills for a familiar gameplay. :)

I like the idea of Smite - 3PV and non-lock attacks aka everything is a skillshot making it even for advanced players not easy. I just didn't try it because LOL, MWO and some other great Games took most of my freetime. Maybe i should take a longer pause for LOL to study Smite. Haha

Well now is a good time to get into smite. I remember hearing about it during the beta and thinking was an interesting idea that looked poorly executed (in hindsight I think my reaction was mainly because the graphics looked like decayed butt) and despite the fact that the game looks great now they're still improving it. Zeus and Nu Wa are getting new character models next patch and HiRez has talked about new map asset updates in the near future. And on top of all that they've been consistently releasing new gods and skins.

Some of my friends were a bit difficult to talk into Smite because of what HiRez did with Global Agenda and Tribes Ascend. But as far as I'm concerned they're practically walking on water where Smite is concerned. The MOBA market is pretty large and I think Smite is already too big to fail but I suppose only time will tell.

Global Agenda was their first game I think, and that didn't really catch on, Tribes: Ascend was popular for a while but not much new content and server stress necked that I think, SMITE has (seemingly) learned from those mistakes and does extremely well :D

Also, the €24 for all gods + 400 gems is a steal.
