This is my current LRM build. I've seen builds use similar load outs, but with XL engines. I wanted to eliminate XL engines from from Stalkers completely due to the giant side torso. I really like this build as it puts all 50 missiles down range in one volley, thus limiting AMS effectiveness. It also uses two tags as I lost the arm with my tag in it once and it sucked.
Looks like a solid build to make use of the available tubes. My concerns would be 1) LRMs do piddly damage now, and 2), severe lack of close range weaponry. Unless you have flyswatters covering you, this would be open season for my SDR-5D.
A reasonable build given the limitations of the chassis. I would personally downgrade the engine (speed not so critical for 'Mechs engaging at long range), remove the LRM5s, AMS and upgrade the MLs to LLs to augment firepower at close and medium range. Something like this: It doesn't fix the weak LRMs at the moment - but one day they will come back into fashion.
This build is fairly similar to my LRM50 variant of my Rainman build. I use a 300 XL and STD internals instead of your setup, and manage to fit on a bit more DHS and ammo, but overall it is fairly similar to your build. It is my second favorite of the 3 I have, I preferred saving a bit of tonnage by using SSRMs as a secondary, which adds a lot of close-up firepower.
I'm impressed with this build. You have a back up tag on each arm, and plenty of LRM ammo. I'd call it a successful LRM boat. 5-5
my favorite lrm boat for a long time already. normally people stop to play atlas lrm when they face this baby ;-) mine with 1 more medium, less armour in the legs, and 1 t ammo to get 1620 missiles.
