I have considered it, but I feel like the 3x SRM6s really give me some up-close face-ripping that an autocannon (short of a 20) doesn't provide. I want something punchy enough to make even an assault flinch, and I'd rather have that over a more useful cannon at range. Maybe once I'm richer and have some SRM4s lying around I'll try it out.
My latest tweak on the classic: Have to be careful with the heat, but I managed to squeeze in my new best friend the AMS. More armor than the original build, less speed (again, because I'm too cheap to buy an engine I don't have). Testing it now while I level the frame.
Cheap Centurion is cheap But yes, I pretty much stick to assaults since we're about the same speed anyways. At range I just plink away with the AC2, but once the distances close the 18 SRMs make for a pretty nasty surprise against enemy brawlers. I tend to pick up 1-3 kills on most matches, and I'm usually alive all the way to the end. So even with my slow speed the loadout works, at least at my play level!
Full stars! This is the best Zombie.Mech/Build in MWO. No Question. The AC/2 is just4fun to get some XP for Assists, nothing more, because most times you would lose your arms.. So why load a heavy Cannon, if you cant use it very long in game? The most damage is made by the brutal SRM Strikes at close Range. Really! GO ZOMBIE!!! Blagg
I've seen a few run this build. I like a AC5 fire power more, but the UAC5 is cake. It never jams if set in chainfire, and can wreck peoples day if it DOESN'T jam(luck or space magic). a good build, quick too with the xl engine
Yeah i like the AC/5 also more than the AC/2.. but really, a AC/5 would be a waste. I run in my CN9-A only with 1ton of AC/2.Ammo, the rest are Missiles. I dont even try to kill with my Cannon, but rather escort the Assaults and then if it comes to encounters, then i try to get around the target and wreck havoc from behind with SRM Strikes. AC/5s and UAC/5s play its full potential if paired or tripled. A single one is not that scary. Blagg
I Love this build in either STD or XL. I run a similar build on my 9-D Only change I made was replacing 1 SRM6 with a 4 so I could give full armor to my shield-arm, I NEEDS my Shield-Arm! I do however miss the AMS.
with the original STD AC2 2Mlas and 3SRM6 build im consistantly doing 300+ dmg, and the Srms are excellent for last hitting and picking up kills. i love how well you can take dmg as a centurion, not because you have so much armor, but you shield and absorb and sustain so well. easy to learn, and masterful results make this mech an all around terror on the battlefield.
