This belongs in the Mech Porn section It's like a super speedy stalker! This is my version. Losing 1xSRM6A of burst hurts, but I've patched it up with shorter missiles CD (WHK-A RT) and TC2 for extra crits. Should still be pretty much wrecking scrub faces!
I've been using a version of this build with an LBX10 or LBX20 and MPLs instead of LPL. It wrecks other mechs. I may try this with the LPLs now to see if I like it better.
4 kills with 1222 damage on first drop (win), 3 kills and 965 damage on the second (a loss) drop, this is a killer build though I may try to get a bit more cooling on it.
This: Cooler version, simply drops a ML for a ton of ammo (500 seems a bit low for 4 SRM6s anyway). Still, definitely a great build, and will be one of the first ones I run on my Warhawk when I eventually get it for C-Bills.
I want this so much I'm used to play the stalker 3F and this is basically a super stalker. I'm also going to try this asymmetrical setup, because I love pulse lasers, but your build is pretty much perfect, might be the best brawler ingame atm. EDIT : with Pulse lasers update I want to try this build even more
Will test before rating. Considering the Warhawk is about to drop for C-Bill I think i'll hop back in it and try to perfect a few builds and start rating for your pleasure. Initially, this build is right along the lines I was thinking conceptually. I like that it has good firepower and ammo capacity on the left side because the right-side usually houses most of the WHKs firepower. The biggest issue might be the lack of ammo for the 4x SRM6. I'm basing this on my experience in brawler mediums with only 3x SRM6s and 5 tons of ammo, it runs dry pretty quick. Feedback soon™
I tend to think the same as well ammo-wise: 1.5 tons per 6, which means I'd really want at least 6 tons. But with an Assault, and with that much backup firepower, I don't think it'd be a huge issue. Especially when one considers that 5 tons is already 1000 damage potential, plus whatever you've done with the Lasers while closing distance. So if you run out of ammo, it had better have been one heck-of-a-match! And again, it has enough Energy that running out of ammo won't cripple the thing by any means.
Solves the problems all at once. I didn't notice the 3E had 15% cooldown negative for E weapons, but that is really too much, forget actuators and gain 15% DPS from lasers. Not worth it for 1 more MLAS. Dropping the single MLAS allows for a 6th ton of SRM ammo, DPS from the lasers will be even more without the crippling quirk, and it's cooler in brawls
Good catch! I'll need to change my build as well. Played this without any medium lasers and it worked great. Mediums might be a bit too hot for me.
that's the reason why I built this https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/whk-b-84to104-1x-cuac20-4x-csrm6-2x-cmpl.7733/ Much cooler with potentially higher alpha. the downside is the loss of long range weapons.
The more I play this build, the more I'm leaning towards ditching artemis and going like this I find the MLas very sub par on brawls, while the pulse is really good, and since for heat management most of times I'm firing MLAS and SRMs only, I want the pulse version. Also you can really feel the 2+ DHS difference, and it's going to get even better on elite. So far I find I don't need artemis that much, and here as well, speed tweak can only make this better.
Finally get to run this thing . . . It gets hot, yes. But so long as you REALLY go conservative on the Lasers once you reach 270 meteres, it works just fine. In fact, more than fine. For an entirely un-basic-ed 'Mech, this thing has been putting out some nice scores. I love it already! This was nuts. If ONLY it had been my first victory! Would have been 20,000 XP right there . . .
