The more and more I use the Locust... the more I find out just how OP it really is no joke...

With a good pilot that understands mech pitch and turning limits.... amazing games can happen... even if I lose.

Killed 2 Direwolves 1 Summoner 1 Cataphract 1 Firestarter and 1 Kitfox... would've had a Nova but Kitfox legged me before he died...

I probably already have said that, but I'm always impressed by good Locust pilots. It requires so much discipline.

Out of curiosity, what's your build?

 

It's a 3M so it is probably a combination of 4-5 Medium Masers or 4-5 Small Pulse Lasers depending on AMS. Not much else you can do with the variant.

Personally, I drop the engine size slightly to take 4 Small Pulse and 1 Medium Pulse in my 1E, but it can also be done on the 3M.

It would be nice to see the builds associated with the good games and what players recommend.

 

190xl with 4ml and a tag to expose ECMs that run behind us... Like other Locusts

Had an insane match in the Locust 1E. Got down to a 4:1 and I was able to take 2 down and almost leg the other one (last one was an AFK...didn't know at the time) before the timer ran out of me. Brought a strike but totally biffed where I tossed it and it did 0 damage. Had no idea I passed the 1k threshold in my Locust until the match end. Blew me away!

 

Nicely done Karbon! I think I saw this over on Reddit someone shared it. That really sucks it didn't count toward your top 10 for the tournament. wow. I would have rage-quit lol.

Thanks, was an intense game no doubt! Would have been killer to have this count for my points, but even though in this case the timer did me in....I still have a cool screen shot and great story of 'that time' I made the Locust a force.

 

Why wouldn't it count for the top 10? I thought you still get points for a loss, just not the 20 bonus for the win. Based on the performance, that would still be a 213 point game.

 

Sadly it only counts your top 10 "victorious" games. It's really dumb. Makes the 20 points for a win redundant.

 

I looked at the screenshot before reading the text, I saw "1068 dmg" and thought "jeezus this is god-like". I was reassured noticing this score was achieved by a Banshee. Then I saw the Locust score.

Really impressive.

 

Hey hey you didnt leg me I did it to myself got droped from bridge(Yes i know i am dumb ). But yes, this was really awesome game. But i do wanna know how you killed that nova? If you dont mind telling.

 

Hmm...thought I was popping you when you were in the tunnel in the leg (from above)? If not my bad then....thought I had cored the one leg almost off before I lost you until the end of the round! The Nova actually hunted me around the buildings after he found me (took shots at him while he closed), but then jumped on top of one of them in what looked like an attempt to locate where he thought I was..and gave me two clean shots at his damaged legs (cored both) while he was looking away. When he dropped down he took a shot but missed and I got him in both legs with one sweep.

Wish we had a few more minutes on the end of that to see how it would of ended ha (thought I had a good shot to get that leg off! I know your team was saying the other guy was AFK, but I just thought they were baiting me....

Ohh sorry my bad then, its just when somone say about legging i asume they get the last hit. But if you mean tunnels and platform, then yeah you did an amazing job on my legs. One was bright red, and other had red armor. Well i`m gonna thanks you for teaching never asume that this little locust will be dead in no time and he dont deserve a couple of shots
And i so wanna hear Jaw music in last 4 minuts

 

Those damn pesky 20 tonners! I thought I had legged you, but after seeing what you wrote, it would seem I just contributed greatly to it falling off . I really wish I had video....the Jaws theme would have been hilarious!

 

The Locust really can be a killer in the right hands. I've done it myself a few times though I've only ever gotten to the low 600's. I would have loved to be in that game, died early, and spectated you. Here's hoping the new quirks don't make it too easy for you.

 

I like it how you did more damage than most of your team combined. By the way, what weapons setup did you have?
