Just like my Jenner build, this Centurion is rather similar to some of the other CN9-AL builds here. I have tried this with loadouts that allowed SSRMS, and they were occasionally helpful with light mechs, but in the end I found I preferred the extra weight/slots in other areas. Heat is reasonable, but it can get out of hand quickly if you find a juicy target out in the open. I prefer to keep the LPLSs on chain fire. This build quickly swaps between the LPLSs, PPCs and ERPPCs, depending on your preference or role. I suppose you could have a LPLS and an ERPPC to deal with different ranges and situations, but I prefer doubling up on them. If you switch to Large or ER Large Lasers, you have a bit more weight to play with, though you're low on slots.
It's got good damage but the short range makes XL a worry to use but its nice to see people thinking outside the box 4-5 A standard alternative could be 1 large pulse, 3 mediums, AMS and 275:
This is a good build. I used it for a bit but got frustrated by the lack of range on Alpine and the desert maps. My solution: swap the LPL for PPCs. XL engine doesn't make me a lot more soft than a STD would as I seem to either lose CT or both legs before either side foes. I lose the arm a lot still - damn predictable Centurions!
It has the same "zombie package" with the 2 ML in the CT and the standard engine as the YEN-LO-WANG. It has 20 damage in the arm, at the same range(ish) as an AC20. All heat sinks in the right torso, they are there to support the large pulse lasers and if that side torso gets blown off, you wont need them for the LPLs anyways. Super fun! Take out 8 armor on each leg to fit everything. *NEW Quirks: Large Pulse Range+20% Energy Weapon Range+10% Large Pulse Heat Generation-20% Energy Weapon Heat Generation-10% Medium Laser Duration-20% Laser Weapon Duration-10% Missile Weapon Cooldown+12.5%
Unfortunately the AL can only mount a maximum engine size of 275, but if you're ever in the mood of trying this, I foresee a lot of fun. The same loadout can be used on a KTO-20 by the way, but which can either mount an XL325 or STD 275.
275 on the KTO gives the same speed as 250 on the cent, not sure if it's a good deal because of the bigger hitbox. But if you want to go XL, the KTO runs faster than what the CN9-AL can hope (105kph with 325, while the centurion caps at 98).
I'm a huge fan of the WUBWUB, personally I prefer to run my Cent brawlers with a STD engine with a full shield side (side torso with the shield arm as empty as possible as well).
Hmm, while I get that this build is trying to be close range Yen-LOL-wang, I think it would fare better to equip it with a bit more long range capabilities: Highest STD engine, and very capable at range without having to expose yourself as much as a YLW or the original build. MLs for extra pawnch when they get close. Downside is that ERLLs take much longer to deal their full damage so if your enemy is good at twisting your damage will be less effective, and the cooldowns between lasers are not synchronised, ERLL takes longer. It's a bit of a mix between this build and the Trident. If you're missing the wubwubwub:
This build is freaking awesome. I go with only 1 medium laser though and an extra heatsink +AMS, helps with cooling and lurmagedon. The engine is a 260. And STD engine is a must, dont think an XL would cut it here.
It is. I use LPLas cooldown and MLas range module in order to make the weaponry more synchronised. It very precise, you can take out components with great ease. They called me "mega stealer" after a kill streak But they wish they had more kill stealers with 800dmg: (max engine, zombie, cool enough)
