The solo queue now... the dregs of the game

Intruiging. Will try. I usually open the map several times each match. Maybe I never noticed the bug is gone.
On the other side I didn't have the mouse bug in months.

Overall I am enjoying the Community Warfare Beta, expected bugs but have be able to adapt. Was hellish busy taking Turtle Bay, got nice paycheck at the end of it. We are no longer running 12 man premades, but are now running either 6-8 man premades attempting to herd the PUGS into group play.

Our dropdeck has been modified to counter "Zerg" rushes, works out about 80% of the time if we are paying attention.

You dreg! I actually had two awful solo queue games yesterday to start my playtime, but actually got a really good crew after that, so it's still hit or miss.

 

it's me!! what was the end of round screenshot? Was this the caustic game I was in a banshee? I killed tusker, I think, but got destroyed by lrms as I couldn't get the uav with all my torso weapons. I think I did okay and to prove my point, i don't think one of those lances did over 300 dmg combined...

Edit: also, this game there was at least some known names - me, you, tusker, meta 2013, Fuzzy... better than most games.

 

I'd be surprised, I've seen a lot of good games from 7eleven7 in the past. Unless he never connected

 

Some games have been shitty in solo this week but most have been good. The group queue has been crushing as its all teams practicing for CW rather than chilling with friends.

Had a long chain of games where I kept seeing regulars here ... oh look its @Falconium (we die badly after 4 of our last six drop off a side to chase a single SHD or BJ leaving Falc and I on the top against all their remaining people); next match its @Business (I get one volleyed in my King Crab....); next match its @Blagg Zear (I shoot him repeatedly with quad AC5's/triple large lasers and someone else steals the kills... he sensibly leaves and misses the 12-0 scoreline as our team is actually playing like a machine and rotating mechs in/out like we're on fire...). Odd chain of matches.

 

I ran into Shivan from UMAD during my weird streak yesterday...he was on the team that crushed us (those pics made their way into the brokeback thread), and then I was on his team as we stomped a PUG team 12-0 immediately after. Once I broke from Shivan's games, suddenly everything went back to normal.

Moral of the story? UMAD is cursed, and we should burn the witches for their insolence.

 

Last night was all around one of the worst set of games I've played. Embarrassing on a lot of different levels, lol. For instance, I forgot my Thunderbolt had jump jets.

For 6 rounds.

 

..... I deliberately press space to check that at the start of every match if i'm in a set that has JJ.

Award for dumb smuck of the day goes to a SCR pilot called RandomData in my last match. I keep pushing the left side and take down 2 in my quad AC5/triple LL KCB. Two of ours get in trouble so I push on the people attacking them but they both die and I'm taking massive damage from a banshee 3E, KCB, TDR and 2 others. My CT is bright red so I'm pulling a fighting retreat hugging the wall then I start taking fire from behind. Swivel around and there's a blue SCR behind me on a hill shooting me ... and swearing at me in team chat something about he was speed tanking them before I backed away?!?!??! Huh.... not only was he behind me but he wasn't even moving and spending his time typing statements in team chat....

Needless to say no unit and I can understand why as obviously mentally defective.

 

I've only done one solo game the last couple days to test my dragon then I had to log off because it went a little too well.

I run into Lt. all the time, other mechspeccers usually in group drops. It's good to see names you recognize from forums.

and CRUSH THEIR SOULS.....!!!!!!

...I mean have a jolly match together.

 

Sigh. This has been the sort of games I've had all night, except for a single game against Epikt where I got a win:



9 people under 200, and 5 of those under 150. I have never been on the receiving end of so many curb stomps as I have this night, for whatever reason.

Edit: I think I'm just in bizarro world Only having good games with Mechspecs people!

 

I will say it has been awful in the solo queue this weekend...... and easily my worst results ever despite being 1-3 damage in every fight.... 10 wins out of 28 battles.

We literally had NINE mechs chase ONE Adder earlier...

 

Then there was Leonid the SCR pilot who actually survived an entire match with 2 score and 0 damage.... literally refused to either cap or fight... why even play MWO?!?!?!

 

This week I have been trying to switch between CW and random pug drops. My groups have managed to lose 12 straight games. I try my best but most of the time I am an average pilot.

 

Well in fairness its a lottery - its really great when you're in a team that plays well, its bad when you're in a team that plays badly. That sounds obvious but that for me is where being in a good mech I find I can turn around battles myself and that's a great feeling/motivation. Of course being in a bad mech (you're just trying to level) is a sentence in frustration as you're at best trying to be effective.

An an example from my solo drops this weekend - I dropped over 2 days and was just trying for doubles. Sat I doubled all three Gargoyles and 1 King Crab, Sunday I doubles both trio's. Drops in King Crabs... 6 total. Drops in Gargoyles... 24....

Yup with King Crabs it took six battles to get 4 doubles and the losing two I got 1/3 kills and decent damage anyway so even the losses felt ok.

Those gargoyles however are very weak when you're dropping with people in their best mechs as its a competition weekend... 6 wins in 24 battles. I tried and tried and tried to the point I was just getting punch drunk. I was getting decent to good damage in every battle, usually 1-3rd on my side so I knew I was performing semi ok but every battle was a trial. I'd be meeting more agile and smaller profiled mechs with exactly the same armament or better ... thanks PGI for matching the Gargoyle against Stormcrows and Madcats... and making sure it was far inferior.

What hurts is really that I feel like I'm handicapping my team and they need to carry me every time I drop in a Gargoyle.... whereas if I drop in my Dragon 1N I feel like I carry the team.

Really struggling with the Gargoyle.

 

I gave up leveling my gargoyles and just sold them.

No interest in mastering the prime it's just an awful mech like I predicted and have been preaching for months.

 

I am trying to Basic 3 StormCrows,a TimberWolf- C, learn to pilot a Trial Nova Prime, as well as Basic an Adder-C.
I do great with Dire Wolves but have not figured a combo that allows more than 1 in CW.

 

Currently impossible to field 2 DWFs in CW, at least until they introduce the Dasher as a clan mech. You would need two 20 tonners, and the lightest at the moment is the MLX.

You could, however, do a DWF, WHK, and 2 MLX, or DWF/WHK/KFX/MLX, but at that point, why not just take a TBR instead? You could do a DWF, TBR, KFX, and either an Adder or second KFX, and still be very well equipped for CW. Or 2 TBRs, a SCR, and a KFX. There are good reasons that so many clan drops include TBR and SCR, after all
