[Feedback] Clan Wave 3 Announced!

A lot of the Australians asked for the extension.

 

Cauldron Born (Because fuck Smoke Jag...) looks sexy as hell.
Executioner looks... like an oversized Koala with an underbite.

Still disappointed that they skipped the Fire Moth (Understandably...) and Viper...

Edit: Exterminator is an IS Star League mech...

 

Originally wasn't going to bother with early adoption because paychecks. However I have a tax refund coming in, and I'm getting refunded for some family business billing I had to cover. Looks like I'll be able to get the pack early enough after all! Now the real question is...do I still want it? I do have the collector bug, and that many/much Bays/Premium time is pretty solid. What will probably put me over the edge right before the new deadline is just how much more flexible this wave is than previous packs. Endo/FF on all of them will limit space a bit on the heavy end of the spectrum, but SO MUCH FREE TONNAGE, on top of two being ECM capable. They also all have acceptable ballistic choices for build variance...not the most stellar, but acceptable when combined with their missile/energy choices. AND HOLY LOL 7 Energy slots on that Executioner arm. Why yes, I WILL be running at least one Executioner as a 13 Energy boat for the lulz, why do you ask?

[edit]Dammit, the Exy has Ferro but NOT Endo, just like the Gargler. I realize it's canon, but it always irks me a bit to see that since the repair/etc. drawbacks don't really function in MWO (anymore? did FF/Endo increase repair costs back when R&R was in? I don't rightly remember) I see how much extra weight could be saved and sigh. I suppose I should just be glad it's not like the HBR which has neither? Though it's hard to complain about that guy not having more weight to throw around, its implementation in game is solid. Hopefully when Clan quirkening happens the Gargler will do better and any issues that come up for the Exy can also get fixified.[/edit]

 

FAQ was updated. Apparently anyone who preordered before the extension will get something extra. I'm expecting a mechbay or a MWO mug.

 

If the bonus is good, I'll be happy...I preordered on day one. If we're lucky, they might give us some more free modules

Derp...I quoted you thinking you were confused, and I, myself was confused Executioner is a clan mech, but I wouldn't mind Exterminator being in the IS decks. It was known specifically as a headhunter mech, designed to find and kill enemy commanders. Sounds nasty,

Amusingly though when they introduced stealth armour they had to make it in a way that it could be retrofitted to the Exterminator as it was supposed to be THE mech which used it, sort of the grandfather....

Now stealth armour was good in a carefully designed mech in TT.

Another great looking clan mech imo, with high weapon mounts. Possible to mount dual Gauss? I hope so!

 

Very athletic, sprinter-like in appearance, though I would have hoped the legs to be about 10-15% less beefy.

 

Jesus! I am SOOOO fucking happy I preordered these now! That looks sexy as hell and it's just the concept! WAIT FOR THE UNIQUE GEOMETRY! Ohhhh... I'm a bit excited.

 

Shadowcat does, indeed, look awesome...and those high mounts mean it will be a beast in CW, and on maps like Caustic and Canyon. That CT looks like it's gonna protrude though, so hopefully it won't come down with Jenneritis.

 

I feel like the only person that hates that look... but I instantly started comparing the mount locations and specs and was happy on that ground.

45T w/ an XL270? Nope. However, Gauss and PPC? Maybe.

The stock SHC-B looks pretty beast. cECM, cAP, 2x cLRM15+A, 2x cERML. Might not even bother changing that one! (Unless I go Pulses and SRMs for the brawlolols)

 

LA and LT from the SHC-P, RT from the SHC-PRIME, and RA from the SHC-A gives you a Blackjack Arrow! (2x Energy hardpoints, 6x Ballistic, 6x JJ, XL270) I'm lookin' 2x LPL, 6x MG at 106kph. Alllllllright!

The Cheetah looks even MORE promising! AHC-C with a Prime LT gives you a 142kph 6x cSPL boat with ECM & JJ! Hells yes! As long as it isn't TOOOOO blocky (all the BT images I can find make it look like a brick house) it should be a great little skirmisher. ECM to get in close without notice, then, Firestarter like DPS.

LOL! I know, LT. I feel so dirty getting so geeked up over filthy clanner mechs, but, DAMN do these have some promising loadouts. Might have to try to convince UMAD to switch factions so I can do some clan CW.
