Looks like a 'sprint' function for those mechs capable of using M.A.S.C.; I also like the idea of damaging the legs' internals as a consequences of overusing it. The reticule shake might be a bit much, but maybe it's needed? We'll see.
I like this compromise. The TT randomness of MASC would cause problems, so having a system that can be used safely or push the limit to risk escalating damage seems like a good one. It also looks like they'll be able to tweak the exact values if needed. Can't wait to try it out!
I love how it works. I'm gonna have to remap the keys (L-ALT is my free look key), but I can live with that. Having it as a sprint type thing is nice (I'll need to experiment to see how long it takes to leg a mech though), so you can maintain a good speed as long as you don't overdo it. I also loved the "ohshitohshitohshit" backpedal example, that is going to be HUGE for the Executioner, being able to get in and out of cover quickly if it makes a misstep. Having that kind of agility at 95 tons is something that should not be underestimated. Overall, I'm very happy with the implementations and potential downsides...the aim shake is honestly not an issue, since you can just disengage MASC, fire off a shot (especially if it's ballistic), and then reengage.
I actually enhoy this. If you use it with enough self control, it is closer to how you use MASC on alternate rounds where you basically never gets crippled. I like the rapid damage taken while you get over, hope that it is rapid enough to strike fear into casual MASC spamming, yet reasonable enough to use as a hail mary trick. Overall, I like it. Please give me the Flea now.
Amazing! I love how it's planned, the shake while using, the sound before breaking the limit, the very quick internal damage. Sure, the comparative demo about how quicly you can get in cover is very impressive, let's see if it's actually too much ingame or it will still be balanced.
This is something I'm interested in seeing; at least from the outside looking in. I think the only way they can balance it is simply to chop the time you can use it before shit starts to break, almost to the point that it won't be worth the weight / cost to implement.
Personally I do think the cooldown time is a bit too fast. But I can understand they are trying to hype it up to attract some real buyers, and to showcase the function. I can cee the cooldown time bing a bit longer. Perhaps they should do it like JJ, where cooldown and such differs by weight.
I think we all know, however, what it's going to look like on day one of MASC before people are used to it:
The good side is that for the Gladiator the main ballistic is on the side torso, so you do have to get out to fire them. That said, you can opt for focus on those energy arms and just corner-peek all day.
