Yes the 9R, dedicated for PPC, there is even one that makes ERPPC viable.

Damn, is the chassis worth buying and leveling?

 

Really average. The quirks are powerful though, I guess to offset the lack of hardpoints. They are not fast though with XL250 max.
The ballistic one is close to useless.
The PPC one is good for PPC.
ERPPC one is still hot if you go for 2x ERPPC, but have 20% heat reduction.
Laser one have 25% range on top of things.

That said there is minimal hardpoints and good energies are all focused on one arm, the others being missiles on the torso.

 

I don't know what to say really.

 

So I was running around with an alt using a Locust with 2 Tags and 1 Flamer, then I died from overheating eventually (after I pulled most the enemy team and nearly died to lrms) and saw this guy here.

To think I had a stupid build.

Going back to the Firestarter, the PPC build can be interesting...but it works much better on a Cicada, especially a 3M. In regards to the Panther, it actually can be strong, but you have to play it the way it was designed. The PNT was built with the intent of making it into a sniper/harasser, and though it has the problem with low-slung arms, it can actually perform quite well at long range. It will never brawl like the ACH or FS9, but if you're playing it right, you won't need to. Stay at range and chip away at people...the 8Z is particularly good at it thanks to the laser quirks.

It's also tanky for a light. I've taken a PNT-8Z in my CW drop deck quite a few times.

 

Not sure if this one is in here but its ... different. We kept thinking it was one of their clan heavies gaussing us....

 

Actually a nice build. Would downgrade to XL255 then you can have more armor/ammo.

 

And probably better on the 3M: ECM cover + gauss = extra sneaky


PS : a Marauder I saw today. Nothing special at first, a bit weak on the fire power maybe, but look at that freaking ammo count. This is at least 16 tons for a single autocanon

 

Worse off, he manage to have lower firepower than stock.
My guess is that this was supposed to be a 2x UAC5 build and he forgot to place the other UAC5?

 

You could do worse than that on a 3C...it's really not the best variant of the CDA chassis, so you can only do so much with it. I'd agree that something more like this would work as a decent harasser though:



That's a lot of ammo for a single gauss, but no backup, so you don't want to run out

 

Running around shooting the enemy with it for several minutes straight (cause tier 5 means you might actually get away with doing that).

For those who like Panthers... Plenty of us (myself) don't find them all that interesting...
