Double XP is fine for getting nasty variants put of the way. XP conversion ist bullshit anyway, and a reward for it doesn't turn it into gold suddenly, either.
all in all 80$ for 20.000 mc for 1.000.000 XP conversion. bit too much. Or if you need the full 25.000 mc pack for ~100$ if you have no mc for a rainy day.1
Yeah, won't be converting for rewards (wouldn't have anyway, I have NOTHING left to do with GXP except skill up mechs), not worth it. I will, however, be skilling up my new BLRs
Reward is useless, but double conversion is useful if you have stacks and stacks of xp sitting one some of those waaaaay beyond mastered mech you own. You may actually make some of those xp useful.
Formatted for a better break-down. Assuming highest tier MC package of 25k MC for $100. 5k MC left over in both cases. So, 20k MC will get you: Event: 11,000,000 C-Bills max 550 C-Bills per MC 110k C-Bills per $1 spent Flipping CDA(c): 12 Cicada @ 1600 = 19200MC Sell for 3551523 C-Bills each Total 42,618,276 C-Bills 2130.9 C-Bills per MC 426k C-Bills per $1 spent You'll still have 5,000 MC left over in both cases (5,800 from cicada method), so I just removed it from the comparison. Flipping champion Cicadas nets you almost FOUR TIMES the Cbills, but you don't get the cockpit items or GXP. For people only interested in the C-Bill opportunity.... just don't. If you've been playing for a while, have less than half the mechs in the game, and plan to get more mechs, it might be worth it for the GXP so you don't have to grind again for a very long time. Also so you can unlock all the essential Modules. Food for thought A single mech costs 35,750xp to "double-basic" or Elite. That is everything except the Mastery (extra module slot). Not including module unlocks, 1mil GXP is enough to double-basic ~27 mechs. Honestly. The thought of having almost ZERO grind on your first ~27 mechs for $100 isn't completely terrible. It would be a lot more appealing to newer players who wanted something to spend money on. You could buy a couple mechs with the bonus C-Bills, extra MC left over from the MC package to buy a Hero Mech, and enough GXP to unlock a few Modules and Elite over 20 mechs. If you Basic 3 mechs, and Elite 1 of them, you could do that for.... 15 chassis with 1mil GXP. That's 30 mechs with basics only and 15 elited.
As I put in my status, even if you had MC sitting around from a 20% bonus sale, you still 'spent' ~$66 for the MC needed to fully convert. The cockpit items and consumable packs just don't strike me as worthwhile, and Solhama's breakdown is pretty good: there is a sweet spot of players that might find this worthwhile to not grind either bad mechs, or mechs they wouldn't enjoy gridning up but want in their earning stable or drop decks. Unfortunately, I'm IN that sweet spot, and it's still not attractive enough for me to throw money at. I'd just rather grind out the unnattractive mechs once each day during the 2x bonus event for the win and even drop in some still over-skewed heavies and suffer the lopsided matches just to get them out of the way. The thing that would actually get me personally to 'buy in' to this event wouldn't even have to be C-Bills (though obviously that wouldn't hurt)...throwing cockpit items or choices thereof for the tiers to lessen the perceived MC impact would have gone a long way.
GXP is useful for module unlocks for sure, you NEED som of those stuff. It would also somewhat help if you start a fresh mech with those Heat-related skill unlocked first if it is an energy variant. The so-called cbill award is basically relative shit. But if you are low on GXP it still maybe useful to do some conversion. I usually do some spring cleaning when double GXP event comes out to ensure I have a reasonable amount of GXP in reserve, but it seems that the recent leveling I did stocks up tons of GXP, so I am good for now. But the double XP thing is still sweet though.
Hey. Don't be foiling my dreams of a Pug in a Helmet. My little pug, Emmy, was just all snuggled up on the couch with me this morning. You'll hurt her in the feels. Jerk. Now apologize to her.
Well, I do have about 53100 XP sitting on my K2 just burning a hole in it. Using some of the mc from all these challenges to convert that would be helpful in leveling my stormcrows.
@Aylek Someone like me that doesn't have a whole lot of time to spend on this game, but still enjoys playing.
When I saw the visual, I thought there was a promo on purple paints. Wishful thinking. Everybody has stacks of unused XP on the mechs they play the most. The problem with conversion is you also need stacks of MCs... I prefer to use my MCs on mechbays. And colors and camo of course, because I need to look fantastic on the battlefield.
A promo on purple paint would be most useless to you, since I am sure you got all the decent looking purple paint anyways.
Most of them yep. Not all, but I don't plan on buying new colors for the moment, I have more that enough to work with.
