I think a Clan Medium would do this better, but I could be wrong.

The Nova hasn't the needed free tonnage but you can do it on the Stormcrow:

But the Stormcrow has no JJs (OMG, that would be so great!) and you would have to use your right side for shielding, and that would be, at least for me, pretty difficult to get used to it.

This would be good for anyone with enough skill to charge the gauss without too much facetime.

I'm running with dual ERLL and a gauss, which earns me tons of damage as I wait out the ERLL burn, but it helps me aim/charge the gauss.

This a simple effective build for the summoner, although my build is slightly different so it gets the 10% weapon cool down time on both big weapons and can shoot from either side of cover easy and both weapons are on the arms. I can see the plus to having a shield arm, but I have been very happy running it this way. And even got the XP set bonus while leveling!

And yes of course the timberwolf and stormcrow both do similar builds a bit better, but they are just both flat out better mechs. With the summoners inherent built in weaknesses, this is about as good as it gets.

Yeah, it was my favourite build on this chassis. At least before they nerfed PPC-projectile speed. Don't get me wrong, it is still good, but not as good as it used to be. Except for the cGauss in the RT, always prone to gaussplosions and the inevitable loss of everything. It would be great if the SMN could get a RT with an energy-hardpoint and a RA with a ballistic hardpoint.

My version gets the positive Quirks for both weapon cool downs as well, because it uses the PRIME RA/LA (AFAIK, a weapon doesn't have to be installed on the component with the Quirk attached in order to get its benefits).

The TBR simply outclasses the SMN in every single aspect. As fast, more armor, no gaussplosion, additional weapons. And the Stormcrow has no JJs and it's only ballistic omni-pod is the LA. I don't like right-side shielding, makes my confused. But the Stormcrow does other things (laser-vomit) very good.

    Poor SMN. :(

I run a slightly modified version:

I swap one ton of gauss ammo for two ERSLs in a hand-actuated arm. Usually 30 rounds last long enough anyway.

-Helps with low range threats which are complicated to hit with a torso gauss and a non-actuated ERPPC (I.E. Spiders, Jenners, Ravens, Locusts...that kind of stuff).

-The main weapons are great but are concentrated on one side. Lose that torso for whatever reason, you're useless for the remainder of the game. Which is not good. At all. Two ERSLs are pretty pathetic on their own, but at least is something, and better to run around with 2 ERSLs only than doing so without any weapons whatsoever.

-Armor distribution changed a little bit to increase left arm armor to 30. It's still your shield side, but now has weapons and is worth keeping it up for longer.

    5/5,
IMHO most fun to use jump sniper in the game now that it goes 92 KPH with a +25% Acc/dec

    5/5,
The added quirks makes me feel like in a over-armored medium mech when using this thing.

Ladies and Gents, this thing is officially back to business.

    Build:

Take note on the LT & LA "C" hardpoints granting an additional +5% (LT) and +10% (LA) ballistic CD for shortening the Gauss CD as much as possible ("Prime" LA would do the same for this build). Additionally, not mounting any weapon on the "C" LA means we can tick to lower arm actuator for a fully actuated cERPPC on the RA. Speaking of which, the "Prime" RA also received as massive boost to cERPPC velocity.

I might switch the Gauss to the LT (giving up 5% of ballistic CD) because loosing the cERPPC to a critical hit to the Gauss Rifle sadly is a thing.

@Aylek How do you do ONE team damage with PPC/Gauss combo? That's just magic!

I probably ran into them / touched them because those lousy bastards were AFK and standing close together at the beginning of the round.
