What's that, you say? This is a terrible build? This really is an amalgamation of all the terrible things you can put on a mech? I can't hear you, anyway. The RAC5 next to my left ear is making noises that belong to a rabid chainsaw and I'm shooting off 20 fireworks at a time next to my right ear, because you know what? That enemy that just died? They deserve that kind of celebration. Still trying to point out the lack of coherency in my build? I hear pilots hate laser pointers aimed at their cockpits, and I have here a really big laser pointer in my right arm. And as my final point, with this pattern and colors, it looks great. So when I'm running around scratching paint with my fireworks and inefficient chaingun, I know I at least look damned good doing it. This really isn't that great of a build, it doesn't do pinpoint, unless you count a 5 damage laser, and it doesn't brawl well compared to SRM builds, but this is probably the most satisfaction I've gotten out of RACs on any mech I've played. It's mobile, it's great at harassment, and if you position right, it can actually put out good numbers. Captain Phantasmic out.
With RAC and MRM, it should spam a lot. If you are looking for a good RAC5 mech, have you tried a Bushwacker with only 2 torso mounted RAC5? If you haven't, you will thank me later.
Hahahah! The description cracks me up! Maybe XL and go absolutely nuts with bigboy MRM launchers, but this looks good too! Afraid I'm too bound to my triple uac2 build though.
Haven't actually tried a Bushwacker at all, no. Might have to look into that, I've seen it done and people swear by it so there's gotta be something to that. Oh, like this? It's slower, down to 65km/h in the name of the same loadout, but JJs and the laser can be swapped for an engine two tons larger. Still... IS XL... I'm scared. *EDIT* Or like this. Honestly the 2 tons is probably worth running a single MRM40 over two 20s in the first alt build, even with the slightly increased cooldown.
There is no point to use a XL220, because is -1 tons compared to XL225, so just remove a DHS and fit the better XL225 Now you are really creating a nasty spammer
I worked based from the first build and came up with this XL220-225 is too slow for a Shadow Hawk. Leave the engine at 275 and bump the MRMs a bit. Or drop a JJ and shave the left arm and go all the way to XL300
A single 30 with an XL seems interesting. Didn't consider going all the way to a 300 engine, but to be honest, I rarely even think about going XL on my IS mech's. Although in this case losing one Torso.. may as well be dead~ But what about that one time ever where you're the last one, out of ammo and the final enemy has a cherry CT? Gotta make sure the build is optimized for that one single, rare scenario or all the people will rain hate!
