Lowering the engine size a bit allows for additional ammo, which is much needed in my opinion. 600 SRMs means you're running dry shortly after firing only 16 full salvos. This is my version of this build:
This build is so great. I am also running the STD350 variant. But wrecking Mechs with these SRM volleys is so much fun.
Updated with LE360, allows for 8 tons of ammo and 15 DHS, and armor nearly maxed. I'm really liking the look of this 'Mech, for either SRMs or MRMs. I may need to purchase this monstrosity.
@SoLong Changing SRMs to Streaks is an option, but keep in mind that Streaks are heavier than SRMs, and if you go Streaks you usually want a BAP, which requires even more extra tonnage. So it can be hard to fit. You'd likely need to downgrade the engine a fair bit. The non-Artemis build you linked looks good though, definitely something worth running. The alpha is higher, the DHS count is higher, the ammo is still quite enough, especially if you pick up the magazine skill nodes. If you don't mind the increased spread on the SRMs w/o Artemis, that's a very nice alternative.
Hey, I've got a question about ghost heat, since I don't own a cyclops to test it: Suppose I mixed SRM and MRM and got this thing: I'd be putting the SRM and MRM into different weapon groups, and ideally I'd stagger them... but sometimes I panic. How much ghost heat would I get if I accidentally shot all my weapons within .5 seconds? SRM and MRM are both in the same category. So, I'm thinking that if the SRM's were first, it would interpret it as 5xSRM6, which is 3.15 ghost heat. But if the MRMs came out first, then it would interpret it as 5xMRM40 and give me 20.33 ghost heat. What if I have all my weapons bound to the same button? How does it decide how much ghost heat I get?
good question, I think MRM40+ghostheat for all srms seperately (MRM40 sets the threshold after which you get penalties so to speak)
With LE350 you can max out armor and DHS amount, plus fit an additional SRM4+A 840 SRM ammo with maxed skills should be enough to kill anything, while maxed armor should protect efficiently when torso twisting.
5/5, The cyclop 10Q build, especially LE350 with an additional SRM4+A. Probably worth it only in FP, but it is a a very dreadful sight and it can 1vs1 anything without a sweat once it get in range.
