I was very surprised nobody already posted this build.
Puts to good use both -15% missile cooldown and -5% MPL heat generation full A omnipod set. Main weaponry is lasers, so you can actually pinpoint damage and you do not rely mainly on ATMs for damage or to finish off opponents. Combination of speed, maneuverability quirks and weapons range make this build quite good despite the lack of Jump Jets. Further strip armor or remove a DHS to add a cLAP if you wish to.

IMHO swapping a cMPL for a cLTAG is not worth it because this mech is best used as a fast skirmisher for pokes rather than huge ATM alpha strike. Due to the fact you don't have the raw damage output of a huge ATM boat (like 2xATM12 or 3xATM9), so IMHO it is better to maximum laser pinpointy alpha strike for pokes which also get the heat gen quirk rather than lock quicker with a leg focused missile barrage... But that's probably me, because I actually don't like ATMs.
Instead of a light Tag, fully skill UAVs and most of the times you are good to go.

  2. Looks solid.

Does the TBR-A still move like a dump truck?

I would swap the ammo in the missile ear for the heat sink in the right arm.

I think it still has quite bad acceleration and deceleration despite quirks should do help a little. I will pay more attention next game.

About ammo location yes, it will probably be better on the arm to avoid crits and losing the whole torso due to a lucky ammo explosion.

I just hate the visuals of a timby with two different ears :p for the rest this is a really solid build that optimizes quirks very well.

Ct LTAG and a bit more ammo+1DHS does seem worth it to me personally ;)

I've actually tried 5xcMPL and a light TAG, but due to the fact I was "compelled" to keep the tag active to acquire a lock, some opponents were actually able to pinpoint CT or side torso too quickly. Also, cLTAG on the right ear become useless if you lose the left torso (I should have propably fitted in on the left side torso, but build would have become heavily asymmetrical), so that's why in the end I've switched to 6xcMPL and rely on ATMs only when the right chance was given (free trading, raining from above etc) .

If lack of cLTAG is an issue, fully skilled UAVs will be very usefull to acquire locks earlier and negate ECM... And you know me, most of the times in the end I always choose the best laser / pinpoint possible over any missile options :D

Could always mount the tag in the right arm as well, so it follows you while trying to lock your ATMs, and if your ATM ear is lost you still have all MPL :) (make sure to mount as many DHS as possible in the torso and left arm) ct was more an aesthetic choice.

This looks like a solid set of 8 build for the A model.

Other options are to replace the ATM12 with a LRM20A, SSRM6, or SRM6A. I think all four are probably decently viable. ATM12 gives you the biggest damage potential though.
