Hi everybody! Can someone please explain what the Heat Efficiency number and the "graph" in the Mechlab exactly means? I figured out, that it changes depending on the HS and the installed weapons. But what does it really means, when i got for example a 1.24 on my mech. Thanks for any help.
Not one, who knows this? Not even the MWO verterans? Probably not even the devs themselves??? *giggle*
Wait till Lazy logs on with his spreadsheets and all that fun stuff. Basically, the higher the number the better your mech is at dealing with heat / the faster your mech can dissipate heat.
From reverse engineering the formula it means dick all to me. ~0.7*√(Effective Heatsinks*Heat/Cooldown) This is NOT exact, the exact formula is like: 0.7021*(Effective Heatsinks*Heat/Cooldown)^(0.5026) What does the 0.7 mean? I dunno. Why don't they add beam duration where lasers are concerned? I dunno. I would have preferred if the MechLab showed your heat scale and heat dissipated per second as well as heat generated per second *INCLUDING BEAM DURATION* for lasers. (It's not like your heatsinks turn off everytime your lasers are active)
Is it not more in line with this: Heat Threshold 30 + X (X= number of Heat sinks) HPS pr alpha of weapon group : 1 PPC (9heat/3second cycle ) : 3HPS Heat sink dissipation of 1 heatsink pr second 1/10s : 0.1S HPS generated 1PPC (3.0) - (0.1 x 10) Heat inks : 2HPS Heat Efficiency ( 1/3 x 100) :33.33% Heat efficiency in line with MechBay would be :1.33 Actual Mechbay number is :1.29
Why are the values different though? Like Actual MechBay number vs. Your formula? I only ask because mine is accurate to 0.01 whereas if yours is more logical but is off by 0.04. By the way what number do you get with a Heatsink * Heat per Second = 10 (Heat Neutral)
well close to neutral AC10 Mecbay 2.04 mine 1.84 Now I had a formula earlier that got exact numbers as Mechbay, for heat neutral and heat level, but two different formulas and not making sense at all from any logical standpoint. Tried making one accounting for "latency" as well but that is more in line with your variations...urgh
Yeah, I don't know why they are using some obscure number in the MechLab, people ask what it means and it doesn't really mean anything... We could simply be missing something I suppose.
