Got tired of my Awesomes languishing in my mech bay without a cause, and when a buddy of mine (who only has 4 mechbays, and only Awesomes) was talking about a 5PPC STD engine build he did.... It got me thinking. Awesomes are supposed to be the PPC guys. Awesomes have such a huge CT that they rarely die any other way. So XL is its! Only slightly less heat efficient than my 4PPC Stalker, but a lot more maneuverable. Since rebuilding to this spec, I've gone 11W/ 3L , with 20 kills and 5 deaths. (3-4 games grouped with one other guy) I have a 4PPC stalker as well. Nowhere near as fun. PS - yes I know, yet another PPC build... I'm looking forward to the proper return of SRMs as much as anyone, but it's nice to final have a build on this mech that works.
Since the Awesome buff. THIS BUILD IS; INSANE BONKERS FRIGHTENING Give it a whirl, turn on arm lock, hit chain-fire and unleash a torrent of ELECTRIC DEATH. Repeat as necessary. I like spraying groups of packed together mechs just to watch the panic. You own the tunnel on River City. Edit: *DERP* meant Crimson Straight.
A Fun Build definitely.. but for most games especially on hot maps with that few Heatsinks - unplayable! Besides 1v1 smart pilots would try hard to get under 90m Distance and then roast your butt with no danger from you. Try this here with more Survivability, strong Selfdefense at sub90m range and better Heat Efficiency for more Snipeshots/longer Chainsniping time before OH:
i blew up so quickly in this build thanks in combination to the massive barn-like torso and the XL engine. As fun as this build may be, it is way too fragile in reality. sad.... Go for at most 3 or 4 PPCs and a STD300 engine.
Last time I saw one on the field, it was the last mech standing against a sherry red cored CT and we lost because there isn't even a small laser on this thing.
