JM6-S Iersian (2x UAC5, 4x MLas, 2x MG, STD285)

    Well this is my first loadout ever in my first self bought mech, called it Iersian, old English for "to be angry with rage".

    I tried to come up with something that does not make me buy a XL engine since this actually has some severe draw backs on this mech from what I've read about center and side Torso hit Boxes and so on.



    I mainly use the UAC5s and mix in the 4 Medium Lasers at closer ranges or to add extra damage to a volley. I like the "hulldown" playstyle the Jäger has and found this to work out for me very well. Most Enemies, even Assault mechs seem to not liking staying outside of cover once I opened up on them.

    HEAT with excessive usage of the 4 Medium Lasers can be an issue, however I yet have to run into severe issues that stuff would not die before I overheat given the right positioning to cool down in cover and even if you are close to overheat you still have 2 UAC5s and 2 MGs firing while you cooldown.

    Also I suggest grouping the Medium Lasers into 2 Pairs to help manage the HEAT.

    Since this is my first build ever I really would like to see some feedback if it is total fail for some odd reasons I yet need to learn, because the DPS, Firepower and Speed coupled with my experience so far seem to speak to me that this build must do something good.

    Hi there, 4 of 5 stars for this build. It still needs some optimization.

    The flaws of your config:
    1. relatively low Armor
    2. low UAC Ammo

    The upsides:
    1. Standard Engine
    2. relatively good Cool Efficiency (if only using UAC5s)

    I run a very similar build with same weaponsetup but XL engine in my JM6-S sometimes:



    By giving up the MGs (which are used only in Close Range Combat) you would have 2tons more UAC.Ammo for longer sustained punches:




    What i most hate are often JAMs..

    I agree with blagg. Upgrade your armor to at least 400. I would probably run the XL280, just for the ammo.

    neat build, I'll have to give it a spin.

    [size=1em]Thanks for the feedback. So far I managed to make it work with only 100 UAC5 rounds but yeah it's limited and I ran into situations were I rather dropped the MGs for 50 more rounds. Which is something I will try out for now and play around with.

    [size=1em]About the Armor, I mainly try to hide my legs by going "hulldown" and the upper torso is Armored to the brim, every bit of Armor missing was taken from the legs. So far I had no issues with the Armor, maybe I'm not understanding something correctly but most try to volley me through the center or a torso side, my Legs are most of the time fully Armored. So in theory, those 64 pieces of Armor missing would have not saved me anyway right?

    I'm glad it suits your play style Aesir. I would want to brawl in this mech. So I would run more armor on the legs. This way, I can insure myself against light mechs.

    And as a light pilot, I always test leg armor, and can tell if it is weak with just 2 med lasers. IMHO:)

    Thanks for that info. It yet has to happen to me that somebody tries specifically aim for anything but the center torso or tries to aim for a torso side if they expect an XL engine.

    Most lights I encountered so far only try to get into the rear and do the same the bigger ones do.

    But I started playing the game only a few days ago ... It feels a little bit sad because the game has this awesome detailed damage model which should reward aiming for weak spots ... but every body tries to knock you out via the torso, with Lights being the only exception were you aim for the Legs or try to hit them at all ...

    If you are ever in a mech with JJ, or a fast mech, people will try to leg you.

    as for this build, It's quite nice. managed 2 kills and 4 assists in it. well made.

    Of all the XL 300 builds here I find the loadout 2x UAC5, 2x MG, 4x MLas is the best balanced if you want all weapon slots filled. If you can handle the jams, i dont see a problem here with four backuplasers, this is a killer build!

    Just played with this AWESOME build again. Im so loving it. I killed almost everyone who came in my visual sight. My UAC5s jammed sometimes, but i still could kill with my quad MLas + MGs.
